1. crapola crapola
Kean says Condi always wanted to testify but was told she couldn't and was quite distressed at NOT being able to testify.

B.S.

2. Never occurred to them that there might be a problem with a
Bush and Cheney tag team approach.

6. Yeah, did you catch that?
Keane was laughing about it when the reporter asked if it's odd that both Bush and Cheney will meet together so that Cheney can help junior out. But Keane corrected the reporter and said Bush will help Cheney out with the answers. What assholes!

27. Can you just picture *, alone, trying to answer their questions.
It's mind-boggling!

11. Oh yes...
Cheney's going to be sitting alongside *, however, he's probably going to be wearing the earpiece so * can hear what's being told to him for response! This is another carefully scripted and controlled POS ever. They've basically told the people to F off, and it's my way and the only way!

5. Biggest crock
of shit ever! Why even bother!! Again, they go through the dramatics, same as voting, to appease the public, but it doesn't matter anyway..* is calling the shots!

9. I thought it was interesting that Hamilton said some of the inconsistencies
that Rice has said where differences in what she has said to reporters and what she has told the commission.

I would be shocked if she "spun" in public.

Isn't that what Clarke called "politics" and you do it when you are representing the Administration. We'll see how the repugs squeal if she has done that (especially the good ole boy from Illinois because we don't do that here in the Midwest).

they can and will make up anything.

3. Just remember when Keane on the Commision says "we"
he means BUSH. This commission was picked by republicans. So that should tell you something right there. I don't care if there are Democrats on there. It seems like only three of them are doing their job.

4. One thing bothers me
Part of the "agreement" with the White House is that no other WH personnel will be asked to testify under oath. Kean also said that if private testimony is found to be contradictory that person is asked to testify under oath.

He glossed over what will happen if Bush or Cheney give questionable testimony in private (NOT under oath.) I think this is a major loophole that the White House has arranged.

PLUS, Cheney and Bush will be together! That blows my mind.

Ahghghgh - they "never planned" on interviewing any more WH people... AHGHGHGH....

AHIUGHaeirughiegr...

at least reporters are insinuating that Cheney would help Bush out in his answers.

17. I believe him...
That's why I'm not upset about that stipulation. There is no way the Wh was gonna let them talk to everyone anyway. I'm glad that Clarke zeroed in on Condi because there is no way that they were going to give anyone else up. She's leaving no matter what happens this November.

12. Sort of responding to my own thread here but for those w/o access:
Earlier

Reporter: Isn't there a concern that Cheney will help Bush with the answers?

Keane: No, there is no concern that Bush will help Cheney with the answers

Are these reporters just now realizing there are no transcripts of these "interviews"?

What's up with this Kerry/Kerrey crap...red herring for the Bushistas? (SEE, the commission is not biased)

22. Just a thought
How are these big-brain-boys justifying having both Bush and Cheney in the same room at the same time? I mean, hell, 85% of Cheney's time in office has been at an "undisclosed location". These squats make me sick. Can the whole population not see how desperate these criminals are to not "get caught". How shameful it is for our nation, that our "elected" officials go through such machinations and hoop-jumping in order not to tell the truth to the public. Isn't it just blatantly obvious that these pukes have gobs of shit to hide?!

30. Isn't it obvious? They need to keep their stories straight.
In public, the testimony could be taped. In private, it might be more difficult to do it.

I wonder how many times Dick will interrupt George and say..."ah, Mr. President, I think you might not be remembering what happened that day, if you recall...".

I'd like to see the honorable committee members just quit this sham and not be party to a whitewash....

13. Again, from dictionary.com:
tes·ti·mo·ny 1. A declaration by a witness under oath, as that given before a court or deliberative body.

What in the hell do these folks not understand about testimony, and testifying? If you don't take the oath, it carries no more weight than my dumbass neighbor talking about chinch bugs.

What the hell... Why not keep the inquiry simple by putting everyone under oath? What the hell is this BS about only people who testify publicly are put under oath?

23. The WH gets approval over the final report, too...
Did anyone else get the feeling while they were doing this interview that the commission members are like 7th graders trying to get a book report done?

'...We just gotta get the report done. We don't care if they're not under oath, we gotta do a report.' They don't give a shit about what's in the report, they just want it done.

Edited on Tue Mar-30-04 04:01 PM by Dhalgren
but I have also been fully prepared to accept gross incompetence instead. But the more these assholes juke and jive, trying to get out of disclosing any information, at all, the more I am convinced of LIHOP and it opens up more believability for MIHOP. It just looks very, very bad.
