Once again, leave it to the network news......(CBS/ABC)
Edited on Tue Mar-30-04 06:47 PM by Cush
CBS mentioned how the 9/11 Commission struck a deal with the WH on how they won't be allowed to call on other members of the Admin, the Bush/Cheney meetings etc.

They (as did ABC) also pointed all the contradictions the WH Officials have been making over the past few weeks.

CBS also mentioned how Kerry never voted for the 50 cent increase in Gas Prices.

CBS: Also mentioned how the FDA is now being accused of sitting on info about the side effects of Anti Depressents on kids on behalf of the Drug Industry.

Are they perfect? No, but it sure beats the hell out the crap you see on CNN/MSNBC/FOX

1. Yes, Network "News" is the best of a bad lot.
Personally, my hypothesis is that Network "News" being the oldest and most established, is the most difficult to corrupt (however, they ARE corrupted, but occasionally some truth squeaks out).

For pointing out thes obviosu odious lies, which they would do if Kerry lied in that obvious a manner, they will be excoriated by the Party-Loyal Bushevik Sub-Media, which will try to bully them so that NEXT TIME, they'll think twice before debunking Bushevik Lies.

is the network news the has some semblance of getting some info out there. The worst of the three is NBC but the rest, especiall Rather on CBS, have honestly gotten a lot out that one never sees on these cable networks. I have a theory that these cable networks assume that during the day they are reaching "dumb stay at home bimbos and dumb old fucks" and try to lay their propaganda on them. At night they go into their "programs" instead of news to play to "junkies". But the networks is where Americans get their news and just like tonight, they point out that everything isn't "cute and neat and nice". Keep thanking them.

6. "after seeing the cable whores all day " Interesting phrase.
I'm not sure what context you mean that in, but I have observed that in many public places, like the doctor's waiting room or the airport for instance, cable news is broadcast continually. It's on in the background, kind of feeding subliminal messages all day to people who can't get away from it.

Are we really all that far from Orwell's 1984?

8. You're right, and it's CNN that's in airports, hotels, etc. --
Fox is beyond anyone's help, but I wish the CNN outrage that, I think , reached a new high on the board yesterday, and must have produced some calls and emails to Atlanta, could be reflected in some kind of broader, more effective effort aimed at CNN's biased and unfair reporting.

9. It's despicable! I can tolerate CNN in an airport, as long

as I don't have to listen unless I choose to, but in a doctor's office you are a captive audience. I guess we all need to start bitching like hell if we're forced to listen to TV or radio in a doctor's waiting room.
