Anyone else having trouble logging into Airamerica?

Tried four times and once it said "busy or broken server" and the other three times something about "internal error" Tried AM 950 out of Chicago and no luck whatsoever. Grrr. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am still waiting for them to send me a "Comfirm Key" to my email.

I registered this morning about an hour ago and still haven't received my confirmation key. I hope this means that there is so much demand for the content of their programming that the servers have crashed.

I also posted a topic about Air America on a local bulletin board and urged members tocontact local radio station managers and let them know there is a local demand for this programming and it would profit them to pick it up. After all, we know that profit is the moitvation behind everything these days. Business owners could let them know they want this programming by indicating they would purchase advertising on their stations during these shows if they were on the air.

Anyway, just some thoughts.

I would assume 11AM on 950 in Chicago.

Surprised there was no 'stunting' on 950. They were still playing Spanish.

I assume they must be doing some work on the site. Dumb idea, since there is so much traffic expected this moring. Or the freepers did a DOS attack on it.

I first got the error message, refreshed and it took a long time to load up but it finally did. Woohoo. It's changed from 3 days ago. Looks like streaming is for all of the shows(from what I can tell).

Hook me up.

I found it to be already bogged down at 5:30AM, so i doubt the problem is just traffic. Sometimes its better to delay putting up a website than to have one thats inadequate by a factor of 100.

I registerd and confirmed about 4 AM EST with no problem.
Now I the main page will not even open.

Who says that Christmas only comes in December?

I'm having a tough time getting logged in, too. At the same time, I'm just grateful. There are so many other people also trying to log in or listen to whatever it is they're streaming before they go live that their system's already overwhelmed.

I hope I'll still be this happy when I can't get in later ;-)!

Here's to Air America. Let's hope they're on in every major market by the end of the year due to the overwhelming demand!

A bit disappointing considering how long they had to be ready? Plus one of the key players is from AOL? You'd think they would have been a bit more net savy?

I am curious where you got this information? That they would begin at noon?

they've always said that the network would launch at NOON on March 31st, with the "O'Franken Factor"...

like i said- just about every article I've read over the past couple months has said that the start was planned for noon on march 31st.
i just figured it was "common knowledge", and no big surprise...

perhaps he/she doesn't read every press release and/or every article about AirAmerica and was asking a question.

I am very disappointed at this start. I have followed the issue closely and expected to be able to hear Air America this AM, and like many others, the rough start seems curious.

One poster wrote about trying to log on at 5:30 AM. I was up at 6:30 AM hoping to hear this new venture.

If the Noon start was the plan, I guess I completely missed it?

I was directing it at the poster who jumped down your throat for not knowing that it starts at 12:00.

I too did not know that it started at Noon with Franken.

I'm in New York so I can get the station on the radio; all there is now is music with the occasional "this is Air America".

Not really a lot to look at, just the lineup we're already familiar with. Man, Janeane Garofalo really needs to get back to the look she had in "The Matchmaker." She was a hottie back then. But anyhow...I wish I could be at home to catch the stream of this!

I think getting on the air is their first priority. Getting the website up is secondary. Even if their primary listening base is going to be net based the air waves take precidents.

There is money at play on the station side. It has to go first. Therefore all attention is going to be on getting that up and running. They will also be working towards getting the net side up and running but they have to know the broadcast is hitting the airwaves first.

Older recorded stuff. Not live yet. But it may take a couple of links to get through.

The rocky start has me very frustrated.

The site should be near bullet proof, considering the time they have had to prepare.

If you visit http://www.centralairmedia.com it's a bit of a mess. Double links, old information and no click-able links to their "other" site http://www.airamericaradio.com which now only shows a placeholder message.

There is no reason both the web and the broadcasts aren't ready to go!

I imagine the news reports today. They won't be about the great start, they will be about the stumbles.

bur, I'm taking it as a good sign also. I do wish they will get a station in th KCMO area, trying to listen to streams on a dial up can be a hassle.

I tried to register but never received the email confirmation and code word to finish the process.

But, yeah, I finally got it.

I got mine really early this morning, but it did take awhile, just be patient.

My co-worker's husband called their number when he couldn't get the streaming working this morning, and after a while, someone answered the phone, and it was Al Franken himself!

Needless to say, he was excited to talk to Al on the phone!

They go live at noon, just like they said they would...

I already went around the issue of the noon start. I must have missed that on their site? Funny they would not have made that clear there?

I am going to try to listen on the web by going to the stations and see if they have web broadcasts.

WLIB has a web cast and will also check the other stations.

This is a new venture. There are bound to be glitches in the beginning. Nobody in the lineup, except for Randi Rhodes is a radio person. So expect a learning curve.

I just registered, and I'm hung up at the reply screen to that. I hope I get my password in time for Al.

Rush, as much as we loathe him, has been doing this for what 20 years now? He has a smooth operation. We will get there.

They have had month's to prep the site, which is the focus of my discontent.

Walsh's time at AOL must not have given him much insight into how to create a functioning a web site.

That there is A LOT more interest outside their initital markets than they were counting on. That will be a good thing.

just patience borne of experience. New ventures usually have problems.

If they are to succeed, they need our support and encouragement with problem solving, not "It doesn't work! Why bother?" That's the all or nothing mentality that gives up too easily.

I reiterate: New ventures usually have problems. Expecting perfection from the start is unrealistic.
