I'm sure they were praising the fact that we have an alternative to Rush and Insannity right? Right? They had to be, because they are all about free speech, right? Right?

We know there are freepers that think they are in "deep cover" here. *giggle*

but I scored way higher than that on my SATs and people still call me stupid sometimes.

This quote from a post on FreeRepublic was posted on the "Freepers listening to Air America" thread...

It's hard to get these images out of my head: of a bunch of freepers rigidly laughing on cue to their "humour" specialists. (Notice he/she is either British or doesn't know how we spell "humor" in the good ole US of A.)

What a telling description of their Pearlesque, tow-the-line fascist approach to their philosophy. Thousands of years of civilization with a cultural appreciation for the important role comedians play in shedding light on the absurd, to bring balance and perspective to issues large and small, to defuse potentially dangerous situations....and now, with Air America Radio, freepers think they need to enlist "humour specialists" to counter potential dissenting views. Their idea of humor is watching bunnypants look for WMD's in the oval office.

Maybe I'm making a big deal out of this, but to me, it's so sad that we've become so technobrained about everything that some can't let down, let go and expose the vulnerable underbelly of the absurd through laughter.

That quote on FR is a hallmark of their entire Aryan Nation mindset.

These folks need a belly laugh that massages all their insides and opens their hearts....a belly laugh about something other than Iraqis getting slaughtered or Wellstone getting killed.

DUers are so great about laughing at Clinton's pee-pee and other things that get thrown our way. I've had to invest in special monitor cleaners to wipe off the coffee so often spewed during some of DU's more hilarious takes on issues. It's spontaneous humor, it's usually humane, and it's healthy. In fact, sometimes it's the only thing that keeps me from going nuts, due to the seriousness of what we're faced with in the world right now.
