I don't care what the nay sayers say. Air America is a gift from above.
I live in a suburb of Portland Oregon for the past three years. This is what is on the talk radio here. Rush, Hannity, Michael savage, Neil Boortz, Laura Ingraham, Lars larson, Victor Boc, all are hard core right wing. There has been no other voice on the radio around here, that is until today.

I can't begin to tell you how wonderful it was for me today when I got into my car and tuned my radio to http://www.super62.com/main.html , What a treat it was not to be forced to listen to the right wing lies, instead I got an ear full of the intelligent Randi Rhodes show. i actually enjoyed going out and doing my business.

To all those posters on here who have put down Air America, i say pooh on you. You obviously don't appreciate the waste land of dis-information that i have had to deal with. Thank the good lord for Air America. Free at last, free at last.

I can't wait to get a KPOJ bumper sticker for my car. Wear it proud and say it loud, Air America is here.

Can't wait until they find a station here in the S.F. Bay Area.
Until then I'll have to endure the crappy RealAudio stream.

3. Oh, I agree.
However, even if it is shouldn't we be honest enough to point out what we percieve to be flaws or shortcomings? It will only make the show better and stronger.

Just my opinion.

5. Yes it is. It is DU on the radio
It is the natural evolution of the culture we created here becoming mainstream. It is exciting.

If I want a joke I'll look in the mirror in silent soliloquy but when I tune in to another's station I want some brain food. Feed me AA!!!

7. Ayup, I concurr
I don't get it. People are witnessing history in the making and they somehow got the idea somebody else cares about their personal malfunction in missing the point.

There's plenty of radio stations and drug addled DJs to criticize, go get em. Once Air America has been around... ohhhhh 15 years or so... then let's hear ya whine.

Finally I can play talk radio at my company. How fun is that?

YAAAAAY for AirAmericaRadio! Thank you to all involved.

Edited on Wed Mar-31-04 08:20 PM by wyldwolf
... that cannot be pleased. They find something sinister in everything.

9. Great Quote From A Buddy Of Mine
(former Air Force guy, but not nearly as conservative as you'd expect) re the name "Air America":

"Don't they know you can't fly with only a left wing?"

17. I thought Air American was fantastic...
Franken didn't come from radio, Katherine coached them...first day - quite smooth and the guest list was fantastic!

THE IMPORTANT THING IS THIS - for once, you could listen to the radio RELAXED and chuckling, instead of sick to your stomach.

I think even if we've heard Al F and others tell some stories previously, it's good to repeat them - there are a lot of people who will hear it for the first time.

Tomorrow - H Clinton Friday R. Clarke
Today - Bob Kerry, Michael Moore, Al Gore, who else?

And they had 'Ann Coulter' - who was locked in a waiting room. They're going to pay for that impersonation. Tomorrow, Hannity and Ingraham and all the others will either be screaming in anger or ignoring it all together. You figure out the reason for the latter.

It was a good day....I wish I could listen to everything else.

When the TV station that Al Gore is involved in goes live, do you think they will have Al and Katherine on radio and TV...like Imus?

22. Didja catch what Randi Rhodes had to say about Lars Larson?
Something to the effect of:

"Every day, Lars Larson straps a gun to the back of his pants and wears it to work. Since he has nothing in the front of his pants, he must need that gun!"

She did it a couple of times. Something about the moron carrying a gun on his back side as a replacement for a lack of penis. lol.. I laughed my ass off. I'm sure that Lars will blow a fuse. But I don't care because now I have no reason to listen to that asshole.

he can blow a fuse all he wants, I'm tuning into KPOJ.

No, I can't get it in that good. I do get NPR. KBOO is nice when I can get it. But it's not a devoted liberal talk show site. And lord knows NPR isn't liberal, at best it's center. But those are still not AM talk radio stations.

It's great to finally have an AM liberal talk radio station.

28. I used to play hockey at the Sherwood Ice arena.........
a few months ago prior to moving here to Long Island. I miss it (and all of Portland) terribly.

KBOO rocks (though I wish they had played less music and had more progressive talk)....but Air America is incredible, I almost can't believe it's actually a reality.

30. AMEN! I'm in heaven
Edited on Wed Mar-31-04 11:01 PM by Woodstock
The only time I turn on the AM dial is to listen to the Orioles games. The rest of it I have been forced to avoid like poison. In a state with 57% registered Democrats to 30% registered Republicans, in a city with even greater slant to Democrats, there are NO shows on AM that aren't radical right propaganda - except the Orioles games! There is something wrong with that picture. The best I could do is Diane Rehm on FM, and half of that, you have to listen to the same radical right propaganda. Now we have some shows of our own! I am happy. :)
