Mercury News: GOP survey mulls invading Thailand, Philippines...
hope this ain't a dupe

snippet:

- A voter survey tied to a Republican effort to raise money for House candidates mislabels Thailand and the Philippines as countries that "harbor and aid terrorists," say officials from both governments.

A question on the National Republican Congressional Committee's "Ask America 2004 Nationwide Policy Survey" asks: "Should America broaden the war on terrorism into other countries that harbor and aid terrorists such as Thailand, Syria, Somalia, the Philippines, etc.?"

Accompanying the NRCC survey, which also poses questions about health care, the economy and other issues, was a four-page letter signed by House Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., that seeks money to help "keep the Republican Party in control of the U.S. House."

Officials from both nations say the question came as a surprise since the Bush administration has praised their countries for their roles in the anti-terror war.

"It doesn't accurately describe the view of the Bush administration

1. 1500 marines are "practicing" door to door combat..5 miles from my house
Their mission?? Philippines.. Every day I pass the "gate" and see two soldiers behind barricades with rifles in hand, ready to turn away any car that even attempts to enter their "area"..

They have been training there for about a month now..

(This is not a secret...it was in the NEWSPAPER a while back)

2. Elect George for a World War.
Even Hitler had allies. We pull this and we'll be alone with the entire world against us. For very good reason.

4. Yet Saudi Arabia and Pakistan
manage to stay off the list.

If you want to fight terrorism by invading other countries, shouldn't you go after the countries that the terrorists actually come from?

5. Lets see if the 'liberal' press puts that on news?
Bush and co are going to rule the world with fear and religion like Leo Struss said I guess.I guess when we get to be a third world country every one will be willing to go in to the service. I frankly think Bush is crazy and all the rest running the crazy house. More and more I read about these corp, armies and look at what happened in Iraq with 4 or them. I was sure the US army had gone behind walls. Now Bush can say these were not working for the US but they are. This is really getting bad. We must get these people out as they are taking our govt. down.
