I'm beginning to think George Bush really is in trouble. Not because Daniel Schorr says Republican Congressmen are putting distance between themselves and the president these days. Not because Richard Clarke has testified before the 9/11 Commission. And not because his media team is already running ads to spin his image.
Nope. I'm beginning to think George Bush is in trouble because the guy I sit next to at spring training games, a guy who has been an active Republican for at least three decades - probably more like four - says he's had enough. He's changing his registration to Democrat. Frankly, I was so busy buying him a beer after that announcement that I forgot to ask him why.
But on the way home, I had to think about that. Here's a guy who has put up with Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, George Bush the First, Ronald Reagan - hey, even Fife Symington - and he's just now had more than he can take.
Something's going on out there
That is the whole article but its a keeper. http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/0401hardt0401bush.html
