"Combat Missions" reality show participant Scott Helvenston

was one of the guys killed in Fallujah.

I didn't really like him when I saw the show way back a couple of years ago, but I still feel badly for his family. (And the other folks' families as well.)

1. He was kind of a jerk on the show....
But it was funny to see him get beat by a chimpanzee on an obstacle course in later TV work for Fox.

It seems he lived in Oceanside a little north of San Diego. They had a picture of his mnother on the front page of the Union Tribune today.

2. Yeah, as big as a jerk as he was, I still feel bad for him :(
But he was there of his own free will.

3. He was....
When he was on the Combat show, you got the sense he still wanted to be with the SEALs. A local paper article said it was no surprise he went off to Iraq.

5. Combat Missionaries make thousands of $....
compared to the pennies US regular soldiers get paid. They are real risk takers.

7. he trash-talked a chimp on "Man vs. Beast"
http://www.newworldotter.com/otterz/archives/00000013.htm

Man vs. Chimp: Ah the classic rivalry to see who actually evolved. Up till now, this battle took place in high tech NASA labs and training facilities. Thanks to Fox however, we’ll got to see the quintessential showdown… on a cheaply made obstacle course?

Well, the chimp lost. The man, ex Navy SEAL Scott Helvenston, had this to say of the failed chimp: “It’s just a wannabe human.”
