Who Do You Think Gore Will Eventually Endorse?
From my vantage point in the peanut gallary, I'd have to say it'll either be Kerry, Edwards or Dean.

No Lieberman, you ask?

Well, one would reckon the obvious choice for Al's endorsement would be Lieberman, since he picked him as his running mate in 2000.

But my theory is that if Gore was going to endorse Lieberman, he would have done so already. The fact that he hasn't, tells me Gore is less than impressed with Joe and might look to take the party in another direction.

If he endorses Edwards, that will be a HUGE boost to his campaign and probably vault him into the top two, displacing either Dean or Kerry.

If he endorses Kerry, that will be a HUGE blow to Dean, and probably solidify Kerry's lead right though to the convention.

If he endorses Dean, then the whole world will go "Whaaaaaaa" and then the earth will crack and pigs will fly and Lieberman will hang himself by his jowels.

:)

It will also give Dean a virtual lock on the nomination. But I see the more likely scenario being Gore endorsing Edwards or Kerry, not necessarily Dean. But I wouldn't count it out.

3. uh
what's the point of endorsing the nominee and not during the primaries?

Wouldn't everyone EXPECT Gore to support whoever the Dem is?

4. Agree
He didn't say he'd be endorsing one soon, so that would lead me to believe that he'll just stand behind the one who's left standing next August.

5. I agree.
He'll support the nominee when the primaries are finished. His endorsement now ould make a lopsided race, and squash the exchange of ideas that we're getting now.

8. isn't that the point
to endorse someone in hopes of them getting the nomination.

Doing it backwards is just pointless. We KNOW he's gonna endorse whoever gets the nomination.

2. Gore will endorse
someone after Super Tuesday. He may have his favorite(s), but he's not going to derail the nomination process.

7. He'll endorse Kerry or someone who is a Washington insider....imo...
Not Lieberman though.
I don't think he'll go against the DLC and Clinton's choice. At least it will be interesting to see who Clinton endorses, and if he and Gore support the same person. I'll bet they do.
