Norman Finkelstein - I just saw his lecture/questions on CSPAN - WOW!
Edited on Sat Apr-03-04 01:37 PM by dArKeR
He reminded me of Ralph Nader but 100,000 times more acedemic/intellectual. He spoke with 100% honesty. He spoke with only FACTS. He answered every question put to him completely and honestly. (Not like you see on CNN, Meet the Whore, Face the Whores.. when a question is NEVER answered.) Why aren't people like Mr. Finkelstein running our country? Why aren't people like Mr. Finkelstein allowed to debate on national TV? Is it because the Fascist have no one who can debate the truth and can only be put up solo to lie with no 'Fair and Balanced' immediate response?

-------------------
It was so interesting how he compared the Chinese Communist Party's knowingly lying propaganda which was completely acceptable because a lie didn't matter if it was in the interest of the Communist Party.
(I saw a serious conservative media watch guy, (one who had sued Clinton a dozen times, compare Tom Delay in the manner Mr. Finkelstein did above!)

Mr. Finkelstein directly called Dershowitz a fraud/liar.

-------------

The Critique of Pure Cant

To deflect scrutiny of copious evidence demonstrating that his book is a hoax, Alan Dershowitz resorts to ad hominem attacks, irrelevant asides and yet new fabrications (not to mention numerous errors).  For example, in a letter to the UCLA campus newspaper, The Daily Bruin, Dershowitz stated that criticism of The Case for Israel was "part of a widespread, coordinated and well-funded campaign." He went on to allege that "similar campaigns were conducted…against numerous other writers," listing these names: "Elie Weisel" - but its Wiesel; "Burt Nuborn" - it's Neuborne; "the Honorable Stewart Eisenstadt" - it's Stuart Eizenstat; and "David Goldhagen" - it's Daniel. (October 29, 2003; the editors confirmed that all the errors were his, but refused to publish my reply)  The lamentable truth is that Dershowitz hasn't a clue what he's talking about.

1. Mr. Finkelstein directly called Dershowitz a fraud/liar.
That's a start.

2. I saw Finkelstein in a debate here at the University of Toronto
I got the impression that he is an inflamatory, mean spirited man who will say anything to provoke people into making what he considers "racist" comments. If people like him were running the Democratic party then I'd have to call myself a Republican. I hope I never have to see him again.

4. Everyone should watch him for themselves on CSPAN rerun and decide
for themselves. That's what I would suggest.

I hope you can give some facts so that I can try evaluate what exactly is the basis for your feelings.

Thanks!

5. Well, there are two reasons I didn't like him...
First of all, the whole time he was talking at this particular debate it seemed like he was teetering on the brink of losing control. I could be wrong but it looked like he was about to have a stroke or a seizure the whole time. Furthermore, he interupted an awful lot and went off on some wierd tangents.

Another thing I didn't like was his repeated use of highly provocative terms like "holocaust" and "ethnic cleansing". Finkelstein kept repeating highly suspect claims and his personal opinions as facts. It seemed to me like the only weapons in his aresnal were ridicule and inflamatory rhetoric. It was like he was constantly trying to turn things into a fist-fight. I think to sum it up it would be fair to say that he seemed very arrogant.

6. I wish I could see the tape! What he just did on CSPAN was backed up
by sources which he'd say every minute or so. (Author and date). And when several audience asked questions, 'bla bla bla, it was some from England...' Finkelstein said, 'That's Mr. Bla Bla, 1964, Bla Bla Press..'

If any doubt on my report, please all watch for yourselves.
