I am afraid....
And I am seldom afraid. I am 49 years old, and I have seen my share of the powers that be. Including the presidency.

And I know that our president is, for the most part, the person who represents us. And, whether we like it or not, hus attitude reflects our attitude, and our morals, as a nation, and as a people, and as individuals (to some degree whether we like it or not).

And I see a presidency that is very corrupt. And an electorate that is numb to the corruption.

3. What worries me...
I see a presidency that will stop at nothing to hold on to its power. With a constituancy that may stop at nothing to make sure it holds on to it.

4. The electorate...
I agree with you - the electorate is what has me most concerned. An administration can only pull the wool over peoples eyes for so long. The burden of maintaining the sham takes an incredible effort (see the admin's constant spinning), but eventually the sham collapses under the weight of maintaining it. However, with the complacency and ignorance (both because of the media's failure to provide good information and the inability/unwillingness of many to process the good information that is out there) of the electorate, I wonder if we will get to that critical point where the sham collapses on itself. I only hope that time comes before November.
