Does Anyone Know of A Historical Precedent of Congress Publicly Admitting

...that it is willing to accept false or incomplete information upon which they then pass major legislation.

The current Republican Congress made such an admission last week. Rep. Bill Thomas, R-Calif., chairman of the Ways and Means Committee has ruled that Congress does not need to determine just why false, incomplete and misleading information was given to congress prior to the vote on the Medicare Prescription Act.

Does anyone know if this has happened before. A public statement that Congress does not need any “stinkn’” information.

Charlie Rangel was practically getting to admit, nothing matters as long as the bush side wins.

4. Didn't the same thing happened with the Haiti hearings?

The Repuke-controlled committee investigating the Haiti coup 'voted' not to recommend a full investigation before all facts were available.

5. In the impeachment proceedings against Clinton
the Republican majority in the House stifled debate on the legality or Constitutionality of the charges against him, which of course was the whole point. They had the votes and they rammed it through - the only discussion was on "the facts," i.e. repeating endlessly what happened between Clinton and Lewinsky with no talk allowed about whether it mattered a good goddamn.
