Nader fails to make Oregon ballot
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Of all states, Ralph Nader should have had no trouble getting onto the Oregon presidential ballot given the support he's had here.

Most political observers had expected Nader would easily draw enough supporters at a Monday evening petition-signing rally intended to make Oregon the first state to qualify Nader for the 2004 ballot.

But only 741 people showed up — far short of the 1,000 required by Oregon law.

Could this be the beginning of the end? In 2000, over 10,000 people showed up in Portland for a Nader rally.

I hope you know you all loved by the Right wingnuts. I'm sure they are the only one sending money

3. Wunderbar! If memory serves me well, he got a sh*tload of votes in
2000 in Oregon--almost enough to tip the scales Satan's way!

4. This is significant
Oregon went 7% for Nader in 2000, although Gore still got enough to carry the state.

Maybe the ex-Nader supporters are going to vote for Kucinich in the primary.
That would be a way of advocating a more populist party while rebuking Nader.

:-)

5. I am totally for that idea.
I will support the Democratic nominee, but I
want our platform to come back leftward
from the DLC.
