Hey, stop making those burger and fries. Haliburton's hiring!!!

Well, within a 24 hour period, the evil empire known as Haliburton has "touched" my workplace. The husband of one of my teacher friend's has been hired as an EMT by Haliburton to go to Al Amok for $150,000 a year! He'll work 4 months, come home for a month, and so on. This was a guy making around $28,000 here in the Dallas area.

The next day, I found out that my former registrar who had just been promoted to our central office has taken a job with Haliburton in Carrollton. When I asked her why she was defecting to the evil empire, she simply shrugged her shoulders and said, "Wouldn't you take it if you were offered more than double your current salary?"

So, DUers, throw away your scruples and apply to the most stable organization in America. There may be a job with a large salary for ya! Thank you, taxpayers of America! Thank you, oh great Haliburton! And God Bless our fearless leader, Dick Cheney!!!

and it doesn't charge a withdrawal fee. Was delighted until I saw a Diebold logo on it. Actually, driving a mile to my local branch isn't that big a hassle, after all.
