REcall question
Edited on Thu Aug-07-03 01:00 AM by Phatfish
If someone vote NO for the recall on the ballot, can he then vote for a replacment on the next line and will that vote count the same as if he voted yes on the recall

1. Yes.
That's what a federal judge decided. So if you vote against the recall but want to have a choice on the next ballot (in case it goes through) then you can.

3. I think what the judge decided was that
you could abstain from voting for or against the recall but still choose a replacement. The original recall provisions said that in order to choose a replacement, the voter must either vote for or against the recall...

2. yes and no
Said voter can vote no on the recall and also vote for a replacement should the recall succeed, voting for a replacement will NOT be the same as voting for the recall.

6. Vote is Y/N on Recall, then Which Replacement?
Everything I've read, including the reportage on the federal trial court decision, is consistent with the conclusion that a "no" vote on the recall will NOT bar a vote on the same ballot for an alternative candidate.

Although I'm waiting for one of the Pubbie candidates to appeal that trial court ruling. If they don't, it will be because they think they'll lose in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, generally considered the most liberal appellate circuit in the country.

Pubbies like Issa aren't too interested in what would be fair anyway, are they?
