Poll question: Do You Believe There Should Be Places Of Sanctuary In Times Of War?
For soldiers or militants or armed combatants?

A church, a mosque, a school, a hospital, ect.

Is it right and fair for soldiers to house themselves there and are they legit targets in times of war?

1. I think rules in times of war
is a strange concept. How about conflict resolutions?

5. Completely agree
I still don't understand why we went half way on that one. On the one side, you have war. On the other side, no war. But we being somewhat moronic human beings, meet right in the middle. Makes a lot of sense.

If you have technology, you can afford a few rules. If you don't, how can there be a rule?

I do love the phrase; the rules of war. An industry where billions are spent to "improve" the means of killing, can be controlled by rules. An industry where people are sent off to kill and be killed, can be controlled by rules. I can see the logic.

All you can do is basically watch and wait until we all just kill each other. It'll continue to be slow. A couple hundred here, a few thousand there. But those nuclear weapons have to come into play at some point. They're just sitting there. When the next one goes off, game over. Maybe it'll be an accident, maybe it won't. But on the hair trigger that this world currently lives under, it won't matter.

2. Situational
I think that it should be made clear that holy places will not be attacked UNLESS there is hostile fire coming from the place. If they shoot from a Mosque, all bets are off.

3. What about "marriage sanctity"?
Does that mean we only shoot the single ones? Gotta protect those family values you know.

4. Rules during wartime don't make much sense overall
First off, whoever wins will most likely declare the loosing side in violation of some aspect of international law. In war all options should be available, it would make people realize the dangers of war more than most do now, not that they can sit and be safe in their own homes. War is a terrible thing and if people know that anything is possible, and that the cause has to be worth dying for, less conflicts would come into being. Only positive thing about rules for war is protection from overreactions to attacks like chemical or biological weapons. If you limit the use of these weapons, it is less likely someone will drop a nuke for "payback".
