Bush is not a leader, and the military minds that he surrounds himself with are nothing more then yes men. The real generals and admirals were retired, and put into their places were officers who will do the bidding of this Coward-n-Thief.
Just as H****r surrounded himself with officers who would not question his decisions, Bush has done the same. Are the generals comparable,no, but then again I don't think enough time has passed to make that judgement.
Most real Presidents would have military officers, who would not be afraid to contradict the civilian government, and tell them that their plan is going to hell. But no such officers exist within earshot of this pResident, and the others are more afraid of hurting their careers then they are of watching their troops get killed.
And in the end it's the soldiers and their families who will suffer.
I am a former soldier, an NCO, a Desert Storm vet. I spent 13 years on active duty, and left the service because of the direction that I saw it was taking. The 2 main duties of an NCO is to accomplish the mission and to take care of the troops under your command. The most important of these, in my opinion, is to take care of the troops. For without those ssoldiers behind you, no one can accomplish the mission.
Don't expect much from Bush, he lives in his own little world, and none of his advisers, whether civilian or military, have the courage to tell him the truth.
So our troops will die, or be maimed, and for those that die, the pain will stop, but for the wounded, their real battle is only beginning.
