20. I Heard That On The Radio The Other Day
Edited on Wed Apr-07-04 02:53 PM by CO Liberal
I was listening to the morning talk show on KVOR. It's hosted by Jim Arthur, who is also the station's program manager. They were talking about Air America, and a caller asked if any stations in Colorado were planning to carry it. Jim Arthur said, "All I can say right now is ... stay tuned."

So I think something's in the works.

(BTW, I started a ruckus on KVOR yesterday, during Joseph Michelli's afternoon show. I referred to Bush as an "addle-minded, alcoholic buffoon." Michelli said I should show him some respect - I told him that if I were ever to come face-to-face with Bush, I would spit on his shoes. Needless to say, that was the end of our conversation - I was cut off right then and there....)

13. A bit of old news
But Sirius Radio will begin broadcasting Air America on April 19th.

That means both Satellite Radio companies are broadcasting this station so that everyone in America can enjoy the show.

ofcourse, it is $12 a month for the privledge. . .but on the bright side Rush Limbaugh is not a part of their line up.

17. I read that a North Carolina radio station turned them down
Edited on Wed Apr-07-04 02:22 PM by rocknation
because they didn't want to give up their ability to do local programming. Maybe AmAir has made a counteroffer they couldn't refuse, or the response (including increasingly lucrative advertisers) has them reconsidering. It is, of course, essential that AmAir gain a toehold in the South.

On Edit: The bottom of their Find A Station page says "Television outlets to be unveiled shortly." I wonder if they were supposed to hook up with Gore's project?

23. WCHL in Chapel Hill was negotiating w/ AA
but that deal fell through. :-( They wanted to syndicate Franken and Janeane, at least for a start. But AA wasn't biting.

Too bad! We could really use it here. There's a huge market for AA style programming which isn't being filled. ARE YOU READING THIS AA? IGNORE CHAPEL HILL AND DURHAM TO YOUR DETRIMENT!

Still I hope something becomes available. Actually I think there is a tiny AM station over in Burlington. Perhaps that's a possiblity.

I think it would do pretty well if the signal was powerful enough to cover the whole area.
