Unflattering Photograph
CNN is posting unflattering photographs of John Kerry on its website. Here's an example. It makes Kerry look menacing, like a gangster.

CNN does this a lot. I've seen them juxtapose an ugly shot of Kerry next to a flattering shot of Bush. This is not objective journalism, it's taking sides.

12. when did CNN go right-wing?
i was talking to some friends of mine about this, and we all agreed that it had happened, both on CNN and CNN.com. E.g., during the whole Richard Clarke hoopla, CNN.com never had any sort of Clarke story up, as I recall, but always led with the WH response to Clarke (e.g. "Rice denies Clarke allegations"). Ditto when the O'Neill book came out.

When and how did this occur? CNN used to be the standard for responsible, unbiased journalism.

14. During the Clinton years.
Wolf Blitzer, then WH correspondent, spent the nineties sneering at EVERYTHING Clinton tried to achieve, reporting BREATHLESSLY on Monica as if it was the most important thing to have ever happened in America. He was shocked - shocked, I tell ya, over the very idea that a 20 yr. old land deal where all the principles lost money could have happened! To Wolf, they were guilty from day one - of a monstrous crime. He never once gave Clinton an ounce of respect, and all the gals on the Capitol Gang, Crossfire, etc.( INCLUDING LYNNE CHENEY!!!) were SCREAMING that the right to vote should be taken away from American women. Is this your idea of LIBERAL, because it's not mine - and I watched CNN in the 90's.
So, I'm always surprised to see anyone consider them liberal.

15. I never said they were liberal
I always thought of them as being fairly objective, insofar as any news organization can be objective.

But I never thought or said they were liberal. The liberal media thing is a crock of $hit, and always has been. It's part of the right wing's Goebbels-inspired strategy of propagandizing the news.
