Part-Time President: Over FORTY Percent of Presidency on Vacation
From WP today:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A62524-2004Apr8.html

"This is Bush's 33rd visit to his ranch since becoming president. He has spent all or part of 233 days on his Texas ranch since taking office, according to a tally by CBS News. Adding his 78 visits to Camp David and his five visits to Kennebunkport, Maine, Bush has spent all or part of 500 days in office at one of his three retreats, or more than 40 percent of his presidency."

Simply AMAZING.

1. I'm telling you, he can't handle all this
he's never had to be responsible for a thing in his life. Now, whether he wants it or not, he is responsible for the free world.

When Bush was guv in TX, Bob Bullock told him (in so many words) to just sit back, do what Bullock said, and Bullock would make him look good. Bullock delivered and Bush looked benign.

It was the same deal with Cheney only Cheney is not Bullock and can't completely shield Bush like Bullock did. The scale's much bigger and, unlike Bullock, Cheney is his self a lightning rod.

7. I'd guess all of it except that
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 12:18 PM by FlaGranny
30-minute briefing he gets in the morning, and the time he has to spend signing bills and executive orders (none of which he has bothered to even read).

He might very well be called the 30-minute a day president.

6. Thanks THAT is being e-mailed to everyone
Their "we were only in office 233 days" excuse (surely from their focus groups) must sound better than "8 months". By the way, Clinton was "in office" 36 days before the first attack but never blamed Bush1 nor has the "liberal media" made that connection. Oh for the adults to be in charge again.

And remember "Bin Laden determined to attack inside the United States" means nothing.........no need for alarm.
