Kerry accuses Bush of 'failure' on Iraq
MSNBC.com http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4702447/

CHICAGO - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry on Friday accused President Bush of a “failure of leadership” in the conduct of the war in Iraq, contending the president has also failed to minimize the risks for American soldiers as well as the costs for taxpayers.

“This administration has been gridlocked by its own ideology, its own arrogance,” Kerry told about two dozen Democratic donors at a breakfast meeting. “We can succeed but, boy, it’s a lot tougher than it has to be.”

1. What's your plan, Mr. Kerry?
How many more will die under your administration, while you continue to allow Halliburton, Bechtel and their private armies to rape and pillage a defeated nation?

4. Kerry was great go read the story
“This administration has stubbornly refused to involve other countries in the real decision-making,” he told donors. “I think this has been a failure of diplomacy, a failure of foreign policy.”

Sorry if my presentation bothers you.

6. With Kerry things will be different?
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 12:12 PM by larco
Does anyone here actually believe when Kerry boots the commander-in-thief that things in Iraq will actually change that much? Maybe we'll have a couple thousand less troops if the U.N. gets involved, but we're there for the long haul, IMO. Kerry will still have massive amounts of troops, Americans and Iraqis will die every day, and the huge corporations will still get to stand on the shoulders of the Iraqis while they make billions. I'm voting for Kerry, not because I believe he'll dramatically change the situation in Iraq, but because he's pro-life, pro civil unions, pro environment, pro women, pro children. And he doesn't let the religous right dictate his every decision. But as far as Iraq goes, we're not going anywhere anytime soon.

On Edit: Spelling corrections

11. I DO Think The Situation Will Improve Under Kerry
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 12:27 PM by Beetwasher
Maybe not immediately, but it will improve because only a NEW President will be able to start to rebuild US credibility and therefore be able to get a REAL international coalition and force into Iraq to take the heat off of our boys. Only an international coalition NOT controlled by the US can bring legitimacy to the occupation and rebuilding of Iraq. The US cannot call the shots there anymore. Kerry will allow this. The international community will, without a doubt, have confidence in Kerry and will trust him to keep his word when he tells them they WILL have responsibility and will have a real and important role in the reconstruction. They don't trust this administration at all and that is the key and major difference that will make the situation better.

Oh, and Welcome!

12. I agree with him
It's not unpatriotic to ask questions. And these questions DESERVE to be asked. Bush* put this country into a vile situation. I think it's fair to ask how it's going to be resolved.

3. Kerry's plan is to involve the UN.
Something the Bush administration refuses to do.

Tyring to get the UN to clean up after him.....
To those of you who read shrub (ivans), bush has always been "cleaned up after"... in business and in life in general.

I'm just hoping that the UN will not shun the next US President because of the stupid mistakes made by this one.

allow the UN to oversee the operation where our private armies pillage a defeated nation. They'll do nothing at best, take their cut and look the other way at worst (that's what they did in the period of genocidal sanctions at the behest of the US/UK aggressors, while at the same time taking their cut from the other end).

Look, that's not the solution here.. The hands that brought us to this invasion occupation will not be anything but forced, as a result of their own collapse, and they are a tendency that should not just have a coat of paint thrown on it for appearances.

7. You're not talking about John Kerry
you're sadly mistaken if you think Kerry will continue Bushler's course.

8. I suppose you're in favor of immediate withdrawal.
I'm terribly sorry, but I cannot support leaving behind a failed state for God knows who to take over, especially since they control 10% of the world's oil. We broke it; we have to fix it. The alternative just isn't acceptable.

9. you have a point BUT
as long as we are there the violence will continue. The Iraqis will no longer accept American occupation of their country. Our first responsibility to the people of Iraq is to get the hell out of their country.

13. Please revise the red text in your sig line
Bush lied. Thousands died.

Bush is responsible for the deaths of over 3,500 Americans. Not to forget those civilians in Iraq.
