(SEATTLE) 04/09/04 - The revelation of the existence of a memo entitled “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S."--just five weeks before the 9/11 attacks--raises more questions than it answers.

And despite the testimony of Condaleeza Rice, few minds are put to rest. What people really want to know--particularly the families of the deceased--is why some warning of the strike didn’t make it out to their loved ones in those weeks.

Indeed, while the actual memo has yet to be released, there are now plenty of other avenues open for investigation. One important avenue is to determine to whom, and when such knowledge of the imminent attacks was communicated. Specifically, given the administrations close ties with various non-elected policy, defense, and corporate groups, it makes sense to explore whether information was released to the private sector, even though no warning was communicated to ordinary folks.

A close examination of pre-911 activities of certain privileged associates of Bush, Cheney, and others is now called for. After all, Americans would expect that Pre-9/11 information wasn’t leaked "for benefit or profit" to a privileged few--while so many others went on their way to work, or to the airport that morning...and on to their deaths.

Of course they do not say she lied - indeed they do not touch her testimony or its problems with the truth.

But they are happy to tells us that the pollster can word a question so that while over half the folks say they are not paying much attention, they can get half say she did fine! - and have 30 something percent say she told the truth.

Right before 09/11.

A leak to the private sector would explain such a move...

Financial and business moves of Bush associates would help track leaks back to the administration.

I am thinking we should do an online petition to look for leaks to the private sector...

We all know what W did, he sat on his hands as long as he could and pretended it was more important to read a book about goats, than it was to fulfill his sworn duty as COMMAND IN CHIEF, while 3000 people died.

What did he do about it?

Bush & Cheney split town for the month of August and headed out for the boonies. They got themselves out of harm's way. They stayed out there for a month, waiting for the danger to pass. Finally they were shamed into ending their "vacations" and came back to DC.

I'd like to know exactly when the month-long vacation was decided upon. I know that the reporters were caught by surprise when it was announced.

The one plane that went down was headed for the White House.

If the Air Force shot it down, they wouldn't tell us for PR purposes.

The better route is to simply track down who leaked from the top down. All those Defense Policy groups......the same ones who planned the Iraq War before 9/11. No doubt the memo went to them...and their friends.

But I was running on memory from the time of the event and, honestly, I didn't bother to read the material I linked, so I threw in the rumor caveat . Lazy me! I did go back and read it since then. Interesting.

By the way, I have found what appear to be significant reversals in stock charts for things like airlines--which correspond to the date of the Bush memo!

I am the first person to observe this, but the stock market, and a number of key stocks, did a U turn on August 6th 2001. I'll post some charts in here later this week, or some of you others can...

But there it is up up up aug 6th down until sep 11.

This suggests the Aug 6th memo WAS important, and leaked to big money.

The options were bought at the last moment (they are cheaper that way, the closer they are to the event).

The wording is just subtle enough, and simultaneously CLEAR enough, to be highly seductive. This little tidbit is going to bust the bush bank, and you'd better not ride on any small airplanes, or stand near any windows in tall buildings.

Why? Because we already KNOW they were prepared, and we KNOW they told their rich buddies....they just decided to keep it a secret from the poor folks who were going to meet their deaths that day.

A market analysis following 8/6 could be very revealing. We already know that activity in AA and United stocks days prior to 911 should have been thoroughly investigated.

Both cases imply that someone got more than a warning- they got specifics, and that they knew it WOULD happen.
