Can You Believe Reagan Is Not Dead Yet?
Hey, I don't personally or emotionally get involved in such matters. It ain't me.

But I was sure it was going to happen under Clinton's watch and he would give Ronny one of the greatest national send-offs in history just to shove it up the republicans' asses, kind of like he did with Nixon. I'm sure Nancy is praying it will happen under Bush's watch. For a while, I thought it did happen while Clinton was president but Nancy froze the body so Bill couldn't have the pleasure.

Hopefully, Kerry will have the opportunity.

That poor bastard. Is he being punished in this lifetime? It can't be good for him at this point.

1. Well, there's an old saying, "Only the good die young."
Tis true! I know so many good folks who have died young. The old evil ones just live forever!

9. What about Junior? He's sociopathic!
He's the evil one.

He'll live forever. (I can only hope it's in a prison.)

Do you actually forgive him for his sins against humanity?

ehem.... *lurker*.... no one's being disrespectful to his disability, which to me is too good a fate, not to be able to have a chance, should there be any humanity in him left at all, to reflect on all the lives he was responsible for destroying.

so you can kiss my ass with that manufactured momentary concern for respect of the sick and disabled shit..... where was ronnie's respect during his lifetime?

10. I Couldn't Stand Reagan BUT...
Edited on Sat Apr-10-04 12:35 AM by K8-EEE
#1, he was a freaking liberal compared to Shrub...

#2, have some respect, if for nothing else, the millions of people going through the Alzheimers thing with their family -- don't we all know somebody? I don't want to trivialize it....I've actually gotten kind of fond of Nancy & Ron Jr. recently, they both hate the Bush clan.

#3, Having said, I am not turning on the TV the entire week or make that MONTH after he dies because this Make A Saint Out Of Reagan thing will be in high gear.

32. Some good things I can say about Reagan...
1) He was elected.

2) He truly was popular. His popularity did not exist only in phony polls churned out by a bought-and-paid-for media.

3) He was a great speaker. Sure, he was full of shit, but I never actually minded listening to him anyway. Unlike the evil, drooling monkey who can't even get a simple subject-verb-object sentence out; I can't stand to watch or listen to that dumb ape for even one second.

4) He had a "comforting" demeanor. I was a callow youth at the time of his election and feared the Soviets more than I feared the Reagan administration, whom I really did see as effective in standing "the Red Terror" off. Bush, on the other hand, is evil and crazy/drunk. There is nothing "comforting" about him, and in fact his entire M.O. is to make all of us scared, scared, SCARED all of the time. He lives for that; it gives him his only power, and it's the only reason he's still squatting in the White House.

11. The Reagan's hate the Bush's.
Nancy has absolutely no love lost for Poppy or Babs or anyone else in that clan of thieves. There's speculation out there that Poppy was behind Ronnie's assassination attempt. The Hinkley family and the Bush family go way back.

12. Damn, that Tecumseh curse is losing potency.
Reagan is not technically dead, but he might as well be as far as public speaking goes. I know his followers want him to live forever by handing over his name to public venues like National Airport, but I still will not speak his name in that context.

Anyway, why is the shrub still ticking? Is it because he wasn't elected? On the other hand, Al Gore is still ticking. Oops. Damn you, Tecumseh. Why must you be so specific?

15. I have little
good to say about Reagan.

However, for pure practical reasons, I don't want him to die anytime soon (atleast before the election). There would be way too much hoopla with the republicans using his death to gain some votes. Foix and the other propaganda networks would have hours of endless coverage, possibly giving Bush and other republicans some sympathy votes.

Even if liberals despised him (and rightly so. He was a despicable person and terrible president), many people still consider him the greatest president. After all the RW machine has been able to convince millions that the 90's economic boom was due to Reagan's fucked up policies and that he single handedly won the cold war.

21. Are you kidding me
Reagan wasn't exactly the best President, but I don't think it's funny to make fun of his decrepid state. And if he does die before the election, his death will be exploited by * and his ilk. I can picture Hannity and Limbaugh blaring "God Bless America" while reading from Reagan's famous quotes.

Allow science to progress unhampered be the beliefs of
special interest groups like certain religious faction that
inject their values into medical science.

In some ways it is ironic because Ron would be opposed
to the very research that might have helped him.

30. This would be THE October surprise: Reagan passes away in peace
and * uses this opportunity to transfer the sympathy of Reagan's memory (so to speak) and "legacy" to votes for re-election.

Shameless and probably in bad taste, but I don't believe * would take anything off the table to get a second term.

34. Reagan started it all...
There's no punishment suitable.

More poignant, Reagan wouldn't have a fucking clue if this IS his punishment. If it is his punishment, he should consciously know it - and let him squirm for a very long time, except for one little point I'll include:

Presidents after their term(s) get a great deal of bennies, at our expense. WE, the people, are paying for his continued existence. Again, if he is being punished, he wouldn't know it. Either way.

I have no pity for that vermin.

APRIL 6, 2004

JERUSALEM (upi): Amidst the growing violence in the Iraq, a group
of distinguished secular and religious Biblical scholars has been
meeting in secret. The Chairperson of the group, Dr. Sarah Friedman of
Tel Aviv University, called the emergency meeting last weekend to review current world events, particularly those in the Mid-East, in the light of Biblical prophecy. Of critical importance, the group was to be presented the latest research conducted by noted Dead Sea Scroll scholar, Dr. Herman Reich of Princeton. After an all night session, Dr. Friedman emerged from the secluded meeting early this morning to make a startling announcement.

"Whenever there is upheaval in the Mid-East, especially in Jerusalem,
there is the inevitable comparison with the Biblical End Times", said
Dr. Friedman. "But, these prophecies were never meant to be seen as our inevitable fate. While the progression of Biblical events is undeniable, at any point this progression could be altered, maybe be derailed through human intervention."

"Dr. Reich's work in this area is ground-breaking. It both confirms the truth of Biblical prophecies while at the same time demonstrates that the true time of peril has passed unnoticed."

After being introduced, Dr. Reich made the startling announcement. "I
believe we can now say, with utmost certainty, that the Beast of
Revelation was a living, breathing, human who lives amongst us. It
should come as no surprise he had ascended to a position of power...
ultimate power. We knew him a former President of the United States."

Dr. Reich continued. "We all know the Mark of the Beast is 666. Some
have taken this literally. It was obvious to any who cared to look that the mark of the Beast was indeed upon this person. Each of this former President's names had six letters."

Dr Reich added, "I believe mankind is luckier than it can imagine. The
Beast intended to win the US Presidency in 1968. But due to a number if skillful interventions during the 1968 Presidential primary season
by The Blessed Brotherhood of Sax Le Lessine, the Beast's plans were
foiled." According to Reich, the Brotherhood is an ultra-secret Jesuit sect that was created in 1478 by special Papal edict to safeguard humanity.

"Due to this interference, Mr. Ronald Wilson Reagan only came to his position of power after he had contracted Alzheimer's Disease." "Ultimately," added Dr. Friedman, "the Beast was only flesh and blood.
