SUN. ON C-SPAN AT 6:30 & 9:30PM ET
"Road to the White House" is C-SPAN's weekly look at the candidates, issues & events shaping the 2004 Presidential race. The program airs Sundays on C-SPAN at 6:30pm ET & 9:30pm ET.
This Sunday: On Oct. 7, 2002, Pres. Bush presents his case for a war with Iraq, and on Oct. 9, 200, Sen. Kerry discusses voting on the Iraq War Resolution on the Senate floor.

Kerry: 10/09/02 http://www.c-span.org/vote2004/kerryspeech.asp

From chimp speech featured:
Knowing these realities, America must not ignore the threat gathering against us. Facing clear evidence of peril, we cannot wait for the final proof -- the smoking gun -- that could come in the form of a mushroom cloud. As President Kennedy said in October of 1962, "Neither the United States of America, nor the world community of nations can tolerate deliberate deception and offensive threats on the part of any nation, large or small. We no longer live in a world," he said, "where only the actual firing of weapons represents a sufficient challenge to a nations security to constitute maximum peril."
On reading this bushit once again, the chimp's using President Kennedy's words sickens me. Seems blasphemous, nearly...and knowing what we know now these words just damn bush* more.
What JFK was referring to in October of 1962 of course was the positioning of real nuclear weapons in Cuba, as opposed to the imaginary sort used to drum up a liar's war. Interestingly enough, there was in 1962 plenty of "intelligence" from refugees regarding the threat. The Kennedy administration and the intelligence agencies of that era didn't grant this intelligence undue weight, referring to it in briefings as unsubstantiated or unverified, and the refugee sources as unevaluated. Based on these unsubstantiated refugee statements, and using the intelligence-gathering technology available four decades ago, the administration gathered concrete, undeniable, and detailed evidence of Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba. Then, and only then, was the public informed of the threat. The crisis was then resolved through a naval blockade and diplomacy.
Bush*...if you and your idiot buddies had been in charge in 1962 in all likelihood you would have ended the world as we know it. You have cemented your place in history. Worst...president...ever. Don't quote John Kennedy. I knew John Kennedy. You're no John Kennedy.
