I bet she was promised that that PDB would not be declassified. Makes look like the liar she really is. They trot out Condi and Powell whenever there is heat to be taken. Hahahaha. Condi you were stabbed in the back and you deserve to be.

1. Wouldn't it be great if she got pissed enough to write a book?
Think of the stuff she could tell.

2. problem for * is...he is running out of patsys
soon there will be no one left to take the fall but him and his closest gang members. I loved hearing Pat Buchanan today talk about how this is a totally partisan issue then get stumped when it was thrown back that all the people accusing bush right now (clarke, dean, oniell) are republicans.

3. She really is too impressed with herself to admit to what just happened to
her. She will spin it away and make herself believe that what she said was accurate (maybe not true).

4. you should have seen Jim Fathompson tonight, spinning like a
fatjack in the butterbox

he provided the template for the talking points you'll be seeing

really disgusting distortions

he said, specifically that the PDB was NOT specific enough

he really said that, and further degraded himself from that point on

hope CNN has transcripts, cause his words are going to be repeated often, and need to be dealt with ASAP

5. Wait until Rush / Hannity tell the dittos that what they read in that PDB
is really not there but a figment of their imagination which was caused by the subliminal messages put out by the "liberal media."

6. Please explain to me how she was back-stabbed.
I thought she was just an ass. I knew she had painted herself in a corner, by contradicting Richard Clarke and even herself from earlier quotes. There was NO way she was going to get out of that one.

It was interesting to look at her sneering face, and the headlines later, "One Tough Lady".

THIS WOMAN WAS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT THIS COUNTRY. And I'm sure the anger she felt was strictly about HER, not for the people she was hired to protect.

8. I don't know if she was back-stabbed
...but most feel that she will be abandon by her party and dropped from sight. I feel that she was a poor choice to be lauded as Security Advisory to a president of the United States. I thought Jimmy Carter had some first class idiots also, and that may have been his down fall.

Paul O'Neill said it best, when he alluded to the fact that he thought everyone in the meeting room was either blind or deaf.

7. You are right
She's been set up royally to fall for Bush. It may not work, though. This may cook Bush, too.

9. Yep, and so are you. It might just backfire
IMO, we can flip the Condi-bot once she's charged. I've always thought their arrogance will them in.

10. No Honor Among Theives...Condi Got Punk'd
I agree...she thinks more about Condi than she does to anything else. It's obvious...a tip-off is how often she refers to herself in first person (I) vs. third person (this administration)...everything was I or me. No wonder Clarke thought so little of her. She could be Einstein but coming into the job she was as dumb as a box of rocks and should have listened to those who were there.

Also, I don't think she thought she'd have to go testify yet release the PDB. She got prepped on all the talking points to discredit Clarke and I'll bet the Repugnicans on the panel were well coached on where she wanted to go. Just one problem: Richard Ben Veniste!

This man has done it again. A hero in Watergate, in Iran-Contra and now when we need him most. When he pressed her for the title on the 8/6 memo, she knew she'd been hung out to dry. You could see that wasn't part of the spin game of the day.

Methinks Condi thought the regime would evoke Executive Privilidge on everything she says or does and if the Commission was pissed, take it to court, where it would have been tied up for years...well beyond both the election and the commission's mandate. Ben Veniste got in the way.

The headlines got too hot to quick...the Rove machine countered with the "No Silver Bullet" quote. Polling showed that didn't wash, so they were forced to put out the PDB (I was waiting for the next delay there, but there must be some real nasty precedent somewhere that forced their hands). Yep, Condi took the fall and now she'll be the one who will twist.

If anything, I see Condi as the possible MacNamera in this fiasco...having a mea culpa at some point in the future (don't expect it before November) and will be "venerated" down the road. Just a feeling...

Cheers!

11. My prediction : Condi resigns by the end of the week
The *Bush administration needs, more than anything else, for this story to go away. I belive that Rice is now the fall guy for them.

Our job is to keep this in the news after she's gone.

12. She isn't worried
Ms Rice has done a fine job as far as the Right Wing is concerned. She has stated over a month ago that she is planning on leaving after this term to go back to teaching at a Univ. Bushco will probably give her a nice bonus of some stock of Haliburton. She will be just fine.

17. Like it or not, Condi has EARNED the title of "Dr."
Problem is, it is in an obsolete area -- and she has not used the smarts it took to get it in a most constructive manner.

And I don't even like her. Peace.

18. Worse than Dr. Kissenger?
One thing for sure: the GOP thugs will have zero compunctions about pinning whatever blame they can to a successful black woman. If she's as badly compromised as it appears she may be, her usefulness to the Halliburton squad as anything but a patsy is shot.

They'll jetison her like so much blue ice at the first opportunity.
