Lady Caller on C-SPAN - Long-time Republican Switches Party
Did anyone hear this lady caller? She made a devastating testimonial against George W Bush and the Republican Party. She said that she had just registered Independent but that she would vote ABB. (Anybody But Bush) She questioned how could we ever expect to make any progress if we continue to deny the realities before us...She was very critical of Bush and Rumsfeld. It was one of the most difficult decisions she has made in her life, she said. It must have been excruciatingly painful for Repubs to listen to that caller?

1. I heard her. Catalyst was the title of the PDB.
Novak and his gang of thugs can't wish the facts away, no matter how loudly they scream.

I felt so sorry for that woman. Her tears were real.

2. `Ya know kentuck, she may have been on the square
..but usually I don't trust folks that come off with that line. I know repukes are good at getting this point across at least three or four times a week. And I think the dems do the same.

I listen every morning, and I swear many callers are one and of the same. Wish I had a voice recognition machine, LOL!! My ears are pretty good.

6. I thought she was sincere because....
She talked in detail about sending her card in to change her registration and I never thought for a moment that she wasn't being forthright in her comments. You are correct that callers use that tactic often, but I did not sense she was one of those...

11. I found her very credible because
I was a Repub up until 1991. I was not a rabid one but I was one because "the family" were. I woke up. Thank God I did. Sometimes the truth comes later in life but always prevails. I have been more active as a Democrat than I ever was as a Repub. Getting older does sometimes makes one wiser. My Repub Brother-in-law is a Repub and I am always trying to get him to switch. He recently had a minor stroke and I told him voting Repub can be dangerous to one's health.

3. And the great caller before the lady....
that I thought was a DUer? But he was great! He read a couple of paragraphs from the PDB and pointed out that it was time to look at the facts - not the spin - and showed the viewers where it was talking about the "present", not in "historical" terms. He set the tone for other calls that came in, imo... :)

4. She Was Great!
Sounded like it was tough for her to finally switch parties after being a Republican her whole life, but she appeared to be a very ethical person who wants to see Bush out of office.

5. Very promising!!
I heard her, I also am skeptical. Lately there have been several supposed GOP callers who say they have switched to independents though.

7. We'll all know in November who is telling the truth, won't we?
I wish I could change my citizenship to citizen of the world.

9. I am with you on being citizen of the world
I don't want to be a nationalistic goose stepper.

I personally think that is a main difference between Dems and Republicans - Pubbies are patriotic to the point of Nationalistic, while Dems are patriotic but also world citizens.

8. If she was fake she would have said she switched to Dems, but it could
be the marching orders are that in order to come across being believable say you have switched to Ind. Good either way.

10. I did not say she was fake
I said I was skeptical, but that it was promising if GOPers are waking up. I think Guy James had a lady caller on his show yesterday saying the same thing.

I think when it is all said and done, idiot cowboy will only get aboout 39% of the vote - the Right wing fundies.

12. I know quite a few personally...
...I mean, we're talking the stereotype of flag-waving, go-war, gung-ho, i hate taxes and gays types...said they might not be able to bring themselves to vote for Kerry, but they sure as hell aren't gonna vote for Bush...

13. Another caller just said that FAUX is the only place to get
real news. He was in a hotel that didn't have FAUX newws and had to watch MSNBC right after the Condi hearings on 911. He could believe Chris Mathews could spin such lies with those evil widows of 911.

All `ya hear now from the right is how out of control the media is.....

On Easter of all days, I thought these people would be in church.

who said that Bush didn't get the memo until August because the Clinton administration, which had corrupted Clarke, were keeping it from Bush in some sort of conspiracy. Where do they find these loons?

14. Skeptical
I am skeptical of anyone Democrat or Republican who calls in and says they are switching parties. People who watch cspan are die hards to begin with, I doubt many are switching one way or the other.

18. "It takes a stud to win the Silver Star..."
paraphrasing a caller who compared the youth, education, and military background of Bush and Kerry. He could not understand why people could criticize John Kerry. He called him a "stud".
