Why don't you give him some of the credit. Why are all the insults somehow directed back to women?

Think about it.

94. their whole family's screwed
Bush's mom came 2 my school to do a motivational speech. It was really bad. I'm in 8th grade and i have my own opinions about the gov. w/o people telling me(like parents and stuff)but most of the school doesn't. It pissed me off so much to have her come and speak a bunch of impressionable 12-14 yr olds who only have their parents to get any political viewpoints from. Also, we live where Dubya fermented which doesn't help my matters. Barbra had the audacity to tell us that reading helped her and her son get where they were today-I'm pretty sure she got to where she was today by being rich lady who married a rich dude who became the President-but w/e. I couldn't exactly get up on the podium and tell everyone different; being a black girl living in Texas, they might lynch me.

Enironmentalists indeed. Kind of sad when that's all you have to resort to to prove what a humanist you are. Hitler too as an "environmentalist".

There’s been no more environmentally sensitive state than the Third Reich, which took ecological concerns carefully into account whether preserving woodlands or planning autobahns. The Nazi “Blood and Soil” mystique drew heavily on anti-industrial work that started appearing in the 19th century, and turned it into public policy. As early as 1913, authors like Ludwig Klages (German link) were excoriating deforestation, consumerism, urban sprawl, tourism, species extinction, capitalism, the idea of progress, and even the slaughter of whales; the Nazis embraced such work.

http://reason.com/links/links080802.shtml

The Nazis were also anti-pesticide, with Hitler's personal physician, Theodore Morell, declaring the DDT especially was "both useless and dangerous." He prevented its distribution.

The Nazis funded massive research into the environmental dangers of background radiation, lead, asbestos, and mercury. They campaigned against artificial colorings and preservatives, and demanded more use of organic "pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, fertilizers, and foods." Government medical journals blamed cancer on red meat and chemical preservatives.

Drinking was actively discouraged, and there were stiff penalties for anyone caught driving drunk, with the police – for the first time – empowered to give mandatory blood alcohol tests.

Hitler, a vegetarian and health-food enthusiast, was also a teetotaler. Himmler shared Hitler's hatred for alcohol, and had his S.S. promote the production of fruit juices and mineral water as substitutes.

Hitler especially hated smoking, however, and he would allow no one to smoke in his presence. When the state of Saxony established the Institute for the Struggle Against Tobacco at the University of Jena in 1942, he donated 100,000 RM of his own money to it. He also banned smoking on city trains and buses.

The Nazis believed in natural childbirth, mid-wifery, and breastfeeding, and women who breastfed their children instead of using "artificial formula" received a subsidy from the state. By the middle 1930s, the Nazis had outlawed physician-assisted births in favor of midwives.

The Nazis also promoted herbal medicine, and the S.S. farms at Dachau were billed as the "largest research institute for natural herbs and medicines in Europe."

But she looks as though she is trying real hard to look like one and her taste in clothing is definately quite cheap looking and without much concern or knowledge of line or color.

I am sure she or her dad and mom paid a lot for that cheap looking outfit. It is said that she and her sister spent as much as ten thousand dollars at a fashion show on their clothes.;

err, excuse me, but is this the result of that?

a while ago it was thrown out by the Bush campaign, that these twins will take an active part in Bush's election campaign.

That in and of itself is suspicious. If they do, they are fair game.

I have been criticized by holier than thou Du'ers here before for bashing Laura and now it turns out she has been raising more money that Cheney for George's election and deserves every bit of criticism. She is NOT a weak needing to be protected woman at all. I am glad I never thought she was.

Uh uh--not again but you can try. It will not affect me. I am not strapped by guilt over this.

Never ever must we ever allow another Bush to enter into politics. If these girls are being primed to do so they deserve to be criticized.

If they enter the campaign, then they are fair game. And they are, above all, a poster for the attitude of the Bush family--they want to be the elitist rich, but they are trash, they are the noveau rich, desperately trying to rise above we common folk and they have an attitude.

I know how that works, because I live not too far from Kennebunkport and the Walker compound where the rich "summer" here while not paying taxes. They pay the taxes somewhere else, like in Texas.

I have quite a few of these millionaires as neighbors here where I live and believe me, I am quite familiar with the attitude. I despise it. The Progeny of Laura the weak and George the fake, were put through the best of schools, while our young men and women who could not afford to go to college but wanted to, enlisted to get a break and there they are--these two cheap looking brats, celebrating Easter with their cheap parents who exploit the common man, as if they were something special and appearing like bums and trash before us is unacceptable. They are no longer teens. They are grown women.

We should not back away because they are and look stupid and vulnerable and we feel guilt for "picking on them" or for criticizing them . HEll no. There was no such thing when Hillary was attacked.

But to use those kind of comments is not fair to most women. And there is really no evidence to support that. Just because they dress inappropriately and drink doesn't give us the right to call them tramps. It's just as bad as the freeps attacking Chelsea Clinton's private life.

Sorry, had to be said.

Edited on Sun Apr-11-04 07:34 PM by Marianne
I am not talking about
"most women"

These two cheap looking brats do not care about "most women" either.

You do not know if they are tramps or not.

You want to give them a pass without any evidence at all for your assertion that others are beinf unfair, but seem to want to charge me with acting or posting without any evidence.

You have no evidence either that they are not tramps.

You are as correct as I am in your observations and your analysis. So stop trying to sully me in my analysis. It is as valid as yours with an equal amount of evidence.

These two do not represent "most women" as far as I am concerned.

These two , apparently spoiled brats, (how many of us get to spend ten thousand dollars on clothes at a fashion show?) are the product of the Bush family who have managed to wreck our country and these are two young women who could not give a shit about this country and their father's stupid policies. That much is obvious by their arrogant look and stance in these photos.

They are NOT engaged and do NOT look as though they could give a shit aobut anyone but themselves and that trend runs in the Bush family. They are merely following that guideline laid out for them by their selfish Stepford mother and their stupid , do nothing ever, father.

Sorry, I cannot give either of them a free pass and it will get worse if they do actively campaign for their criminal father.

They are, imo, as stupid as the rest of the Bush family. They will have to overcome their own family if they are inclined to think otherwise than their
Stepford, joker smiling mother and their stupid, baby killer father.

I will have to see some evidence that they are inclined to do so.
So far, it is not there.

and that is the difference.

Please do not try to chastise me for my criticism of these two pathetically sullen looking, women either.

I will not allow it to stand and will defend my observations , which are as logical as yours.

One looks like a tramp or prostitute and the other looks like a waif who has not had a shower in months.

And that is NOT sexist. I have seen prostitutes on many a street corner and I have seen many who have not bathed in months.

It seems to run in the family.

Bush also, if you want to get into politically correct sexism remarks, looks like a wannabee cowboy and struts about showing off his codpiece on a carrier. He projects an image of a tough and rough male like we all like to think that the sterotypical male is, right?

and that is sexism also, right?

His wife looks like a frump and dresses in upholstry fabrics with belly bows like a seventeen year old would wear.

and these are my observations.

and sometimes this politically correct stuff is nonsense and is over sensitive reactionism.

the idea of calling them 'girls' is part of the reTHUGlican plan to keep those 'little girls' unacceptable social and moral behavior out of the spotlight...

those women are on the politic circuit helping their criminal father get re-selected.....they are not 'pretty girls'...they are actual willing partners in a criminal enterprise called BFEE...

These two young women are burdened with being part of one of the world's most visible and criticized families in the world. I have lots of sympathy for them for suffering the Bush family curse. They haven't harmed anyone.

I give them credit for any rebelling in public decorum they do by NOT upholding the image of perfect politicals props and just being human.
Implied message: Fuck You, Dad.

Condemnation goes to the adults who have abused and killed so many.
Mommy Dearest Babs is a majorly abusive culprit in warping Dubya.

for their KILLER dad....fair game....

people of age, who decide to enter politics, are fair game for scrutiny of their clothes, and their life-styles...

remember when Al Gore was criticized for his clothes?

and suddenly, the 'woman' who was photographed lying on a street curb with her underwear and pubic hair exposed...is no longer to be called a 'tramp'?....

IMO, tramp is a polite word for that woman....her choice to enter politics opens allows Americans to scrutinize everything about her actions and her life....she is no longer a 'girl' despite efforts to push that lie along....

in the street drunk with their underpants and pubic hair exposed...

the main difference is that pictures are rarer as you get older....

the youth or old argument has nothing to do with being a tramp or a slut...the real argument about whether you are a tramp or a slut is if you decide to brag and chat about it here on DU...those who are not tramps or sluts don't say anything about it, and quietly work to do better...

Edited on Sun Apr-11-04 06:25 PM by Chris
I wouldn't be surprised if one or both of the girls are too, but they've probably picked up their daddy's politics, which, in that family, could be for their entire lives.

In any case, I REALLY LIKE being able to distinguish Conservative ethics towards Chelsea and even Hillary, for instance by Rush and Buckley's National Review, with Democratic treatment of the Bush girls. I don't think there's anything wrong with criticizing their bad behavior, but beyond that I enjoy that no national Dem has even slightly attacked the girls in the way the right did Chelsea.

They aren't ever going to live that down in my book. I'll bring it up twenty years from now.

Well, like there might be hope for Laura so we should not criticize her stupid looking clothes or her joker smile because she is a weak and vulnerable stupid and complacent, compassionate, national comforter--and possibly a Democrat who feels like me.
