Bush Prays for a Drop in Iraq Casualties
How's THAT for leadership?? :eyes:

FORT HOOD, Texas - President Bush (news - web sites) said on Easter Sunday he was praying for American casualties to ebb in Iraq (news - web sites), but he braced the public for more in a U.S.-led fight that he described as "right for the security of our country."

"It was a tough week last week," Bush said, speaking at an Army base that lost at least nine soldiers in recent days. Some 50 U.S. soldiers were killed in action in Iraq last week in addition to nearly 900 Iraqis.

1. IMO, we're sick of this 'praying' stuff...we want some real leadership
someone who will STAND UP and DO SOMETHING.....

30. He's not praying for the families of the soldiers
He's praying so his poll numbers will rise. Nice try, you smirking, illegitimate sonuvabitch.

5. Not sure I understand your post
Manson is truly evil and is very much the devil, where bush is nowhere near Jesus.

6. Hmmm, you might want to work on that analogy a bit.
Since I think Manson was a disciple of Satan, I hope your aren't telling us Bush is a disciple of Jesus?

11. And what do all the disciples
of Jesus show us in Northrn Ireland, the American South, and all of the military chaplains who explain to our children the doctrine of a "just war"

Jesus isn't the problem, it's his disciples...

25. You consider Bush a disciple of Jesus?
Hey, I'm a bigtime sinner and all, but by my definition of disciple, Bush don't fit. Nor does Falwell, Robertson, Paisley, et al.

10. Two things:
1. "Allah" is the Arabic name for God. French pray to Dieu, Germans to Gott, and English speakers to God, but It is the same Being.

2. Some people may pray to God for US soldier's deaths, but not any Musims I know. To pray for someone's death is a sin.

Just wanted you to know.

29. Bob Dylan has a message for Pretzledent Bush*:
Oh my name it is nothin'
My age it means less
The country I come from
Is called the Midwest
I's taught and brought up there
The laws to abide
And that land that I live in
Has God on its side.

Oh the history books tell it
They tell it so well
The cavalries charged
The Indians fell
The cavalries charged
The Indians died
Oh the country was young
With God on its side.

Oh the Spanish-American
War had its day
And the Civil War too
Was soon laid away
And the names of the heroes
I's made to memorize
With guns in their hands
And God on their side.

Oh the First World War, boys
It closed out its fate
The reason for fighting
I never got straight
But I learned to accept it
Accept it with pride
For you don't count the dead
When God's on your side.

When the Second World War
Came to an end
We forgave the Germans
And we were friends
Though they murdered six million
In the ovens they fried
The Germans now too
Have God on their side.

I've learned to hate Russians
All through my whole life
If another war starts
It's them we must fight
To hate them and fear them
To run and to hide
And accept it all bravely
With God on my side.

But now we got weapons
Of the chemical dust
If fire them we're forced to
Then fire them we must
One push of the button
And a shot the world wide
And you never ask questions
When God's on your side.

In a many dark hour
I've been thinkin' about this
That Jesus Christ
Was betrayed by a kiss
But I can't think for you
You'll have to decide
Whether Judas Iscariot
Had God on his side.

So now as I'm leavin'
I'm weary as Hell
The confusion I'm feelin'
Ain't no tongue can tell
The words fill my head
And fall to the floor
If God's on our side
He'll stop the next war.

B. Dylan

7. You know what would be infinitely more effective?
If Bush* personally took his cabinet and his sorry self to Iraq, picked up a gun, and joins the people he's sent in to do his dirty work.

His praying is facetious; utterly BOGUS. He is no Christian by any true measure of the concept. He is quite the antithesis, for he started the Iraq invasion out of a lust for vengeance. And with LIHOP/maybe-MIHOP, Bush* is far closer to Satan than he is Christ*.

I can't stand that wretched little man any longer.

He's not even a man.

He's vermin.

America should be ashamed of itself. So especially should the Supreme Court be for putting partisan politics above the law.

18. An even better idea.....
There's been some discussion that New York City might not have been the wisest choice for the Republican National Convention. What with all the "Bush Knew" stuff coming out (at last). Changing the venue has been discussed.

Why not Baghdad? Let all the Republicans gather to bask in the glow of the Democracy they've installed! We're apparently using a few of Saddam's palaces for US personnel. They'd be a great location for the gathering.

And Halliburton could do the catering. I bet they'd give the Republicans a special rate.

George, think of those dead soldiers as cigarettes. After all, they're meant to be burned. You know what people call cigarettes, George? Coffin nails.

Our soldiers are nailing you, George.

13. Hands to work, hearts to God
as the Amish say.

Hands to work means go in there and come up with a constructive way to get out of this mess. Hanging tough an killing a bunch of Iraqis isn't the way to win hearts and mind. Getting some people on your team who know a little about Muslim culture would be a good start. Going to the clerics and using the ones who want a stable government would be a good way to begin. Then let the Iraqis decide on the fate of Sadr. Finally, give them freedom of the press and reopen the paper you shut, which started this whole cycle of violence.

17. Pray for leadership
Every week I pray for the leadership of our government, country, state, and church. The pastor used to call them by name, but I'd snort in disgust when he said B*sh since he isn't my elected president. If he were truly praying for less violence, he'd be changing HIS actions to help this occur. Perhaps we can suggest some phrases for him to use the next time he bends a knee:
Dear Lord, please teach me humility.
Help me to listen for guidance.
Open my eyes so I can use better judgment.
Control my mouth so the words I speak reflect glory on you, not self-glory.

20. Pathetic
Edited on Sun Apr-11-04 05:51 PM by Marianne
this is what he can do, eh? Since he has a one way exclusive track to conversing with this god, I suppose he gets the message that those in Iraq, are not worshipping the right god, so it is ok , according to his god, to murder them all. Murder their babies, their toddlers, their pregnant women and their old men. That is what he thinks his god tells him

Get him out. and never ever let another Bush anywhere near the White HOuse. Never! They are lacking in the intelligence gene. They have all been cursed and spawned by unintelligent, wannabee people who are rich and want to be accepted in high society, only they are lacking, crude, classless, trash who can never be really what they think they deserve because of thier money.

Edited on Sun Apr-11-04 06:01 PM by PA Democrat
16 US deaths and God knows how many Iraqi deaths since Friday.

To me people who "pray" to God to miraculously fix their f***-ups are pathetic.

Edited to change "casualties" to "deaths"

is STILL equating Iraq with the fake war on terrorism...

a U.S.-led fight that he described as "right for the security of our country."

Unfortunately, there are a great many naive Americans who are falling for that BS.
