3. I certainly think so. And I hate to see Tom Skerrit in this cheesey flick
He's actually a very good actor.

I turned it off.

6. I find..
...the character development to be exceptional. I feel like I'm really getting to know these people as people, understanding their indiviudal concerns and complexities, rather than just having stereotypes act out predictable story lines with a spattering of gratuitous scenes involving extreme emotional pain or violence.

;)

11. I watched the first hour, then switched over to 'Alias'

I think that Jack and Sydney's hunt for Rimbaldi artifacts is probably about as historically accurate as the substories in the 9/11 movie are.

The movie itself started out good but got boring and unfocused quickly after 9/11, which was about 25 minutes in. Maybe it got a second wind in the last hour but from flipping back during the commercials it's still pretty weak.

Pretty good production values though.

9. Is this movie factually true? Like the witness being shot
in the head?

I don't remember hearing about that. Also that whole Adel story. I think it's pretty interesting, I started to forget some of the events that went down during that tragic time.

13. Philosophically, I tend to be opposed to these types of movies....
I think it's too early to resort to the "based on a true story" or "inspired by true events" genre for 9/11. It only cheapens, confuses, and manipulates.

14. I thought the same thing
I saw a few minutes and it had a scene where a predator drone shot some terrorists in a car...it seemed like a cheesey action flick.

My guess even before hand was that it would be propaganda for the administration...hailing our "dear leader" in a time of war.

17. wait a second...
they just showed the feds busting a terrorist bringing across bomb materials at the candian border... didn't that happen during the clinton era, pre Homeland Security?

i guess they're taking some liberties with their storylines...

18. Yep. It was very factually anemic, on top of being a dumb movie.
This movie was AWFUL! Scott Glenn's character in the first half hour said that the USS Cole was attacked in '99...it was really in Oct 2000. The LA Airport "dirty bomb" plot was for Dec 31, 1999, and it was really plastic explosives they found. Nobody ever found a dyalisis machine in a cave.

The whole thing with the son and girlfriend at the end was a shameless setup for a TV series. It has to be.

That whole Bush speech at the end (wasn't that the SOTU?) was more propaganda that I had wanted tonight.

What a piece of shite!:puke:

20. Unfortunately, I think this piece of crap
was made as a pilot for an new show next fall on NBC.

I watched the whole thing last night and the way it ended with Dr. Adel's step-son, meeting the terrorist guy from Seattle in Vegas and then reuniting with his girlfriend, who's father (Tom Skerrit) happens to be a big-wig in the Homeland Security Dept was just to pat.

The whole movie made me want to spew. And what's with good actors like Scott Glenn and Tom Skerrit even being associated with a piece of dung like this?

And recite the prayer for Bush while watching the show.
