Ms. cheney's lesbian book??
A friend of mine asked if I had heard of Lynne Cheney's book (recently pulled by the White House - or banned, or removed from stores or all of the above) that featured a pretty heavy Sapphic plot/theme/trysts.

Anyone ever heard of such a thing??

1. It is out of print, but I believe they are printing it again
"They" being the publishing company, not the White House.

She wrote it years ago.

12. Oh, the writing is the most shocking thing about the book.
It's terrible.

13. Oh my.
I found a box full of books like that under the bed one time when I was babysitting for my friend's aunt.

Thanks for the link.

5. Sure. It is called 'Sisters'
Here's the first google hit from 'lynne cheney book'

http://www.usatoday.com/life/books/news/2004-04-03-cheney-book_x.htm

NEW YORK (AP) — A publisher has canceled plans to reissue a racy novel by Lynne Cheney, wife of Vice President Dick Cheney, after she said the book did not represent her "best work."

New American Library, an imprint of Penguin Group (USA), was going to reprint Sisters, a historical romance published in 1981 that includes brothels, attempted rapes and a lesbian love affair.

7. Yes....
She wrote it in the early 80's. It was due to be re-issued but was pulled, supposedly at the behest of the WH. Lots of feminist panting, I guess.

Amazon Reviewer:
The lusty story of frigid, 19th century house wives thawed only by the gentle, loving caresses of one another. Probes trepidatiously into the sweet, secret delights that await them and brings forth the deep, damp passions lurking in all women as they take their first trembling steps toward their most fervent desires on a tawdry journey of self discovery

I am a lesbian that needs some comedic relief.
