1. Which is better: XM or Sirius?
I'm seriously considering going satellite.

4. I would go with Sirius
only because Clear Channel owns half of XM. Why fund them?

34. Will Sirius carry the whole AAR lineup?
I couldn't find that specific answer on Sirius' website.

25. I have XM
I signed up a while ago, when it looked like Sirius might not make it. I enjoy it, but the Clear Channel influence is certainly there. On "America Left," we get three hours of Alan Colmes every weekday and only one hour of Randi Rhodes.

27. I have XM too, but don't even get to listen to Radio Left on it
anyway when hubby is in the car. But I do enjoy a lot of the other programming, especially Laugh America.

17. Living in Denver, I hope that the Boulder station comes in good.
Otherwise, I'll have to rely on my Dish Network at home (Sat dishes don't look good on sports cars)...I hope it's not in the expensive programming package, top 200 (knowing my luck!).

I might still go with Sirius anyhow.

35. And they lose that in a month or two
When the station is sold to Starboard for yet another religious format. Also running Ed Schultz.

Seems most the AM stations around there are controlled by religious interests. How many stations does Salem need to run Savage and Medved?

:puke:

Well, at least WMNN has a vastly underused sister station (1470). Reception is mediocre, but is it really doing anything now?

NOTE: Currently live in Wisconsin, but lived in the Twin Cities for a long time.

14. I hope Cleveland is coming up...
We're fairly liberal/progressive in NE Ohio, and yet, take a trip down our AM Band, and it's the all too typical Right-Wing blather.

Having Air America on our airwaves would be like finding a flashlight after stumbling through the darkness.

I only have the top 50 channels, since the top 100 comes with Faux News, and I've rigged my TV to explode upon selection of that ..ahem, "channel". Just protecting my investment.:D

31. Dang, just when I was going to get rid of my Dish.
I've been thinking of dumping my DishNetwork because with 50 channels, there's STILL nothing on. I can hardly bring myself to watch any TV, maybe some CSPAN, or History Channel, or learning channel, but 90% of it is total crap. Also, I have to PAY to watch commercials? WTF? TV, "the vast cultural wasteland," really sucks. It's like an electric lobotomy.
:wtf:

I was thinking of throwing my TV in the trash and putting a bookcase where it sits. Now, I just may keep it if they get AA.

BTW, I live in Salt Lake City, which is a right-wing GOP religious fundie stronghold. A station carrying AA would do us some good.
:argh:

24. Houston we have a problem...
...no Air America!

Yeah, I know that's a stretch.

BTW..Thanks to Air America I have both XM and Sirius.

I was in the process of ditching XM when the Air America stream came on an opted back in.

Soon I can reverse that.

I just hope Sirius includes all the AA programming. XM includes Ed Schultz (already on Sirius Left) and (UGGH) Colmes.

Colmes in on Sirius Left also. I do need alternate programming during that time slot.

Where have you gone Mike Malloy!

30. I can pick up Chicago - WNTD 950 in my car
late at night, if the weather is right, etc.

Please, Oh Please, get a station in Milwaukee...

All we have here is Rush and his wannabes. A bunch of pathetic right-wing screamers who keep saying they're standing up for Milwaukee.

Bah...

36. Yeah, I can get it in Milwaukee too
Then I heard it streaming. Sounded weird without the static.

Reception does seem better after dark, since they up the power from 1kw to 5kw and redirect the transmitter.
