media whores are talking about Bush like he's the home team
They were really rooting for him on the morning news shows today. I caught Tim Russert and George Stephanopoulos talking about whether he can pull it off tonight. Diane Sawyer had a pained expression on her face, as if her aging champion was about to go out against a young Mike Tyson.

I wasn't sure who the enemy team was supposed to be. Maybe the public, or maybe the press corps. They were speculating on whether the press corps was going to be mean to their guy.

1. What's disgusting about the media is what they mean by "pull it off"
To the media it is nothing but Bush blundering his way through questions without throwing up on himself. Then the media will give him straight A's.

2. My take on this
is that the more the media whores prop him up like this, the weaker he is. A strong president would not need this cheering section.

3. You get some of this with any incumbent.
Incumbent elections tend to center around the incumbent, whether or not they can make the case to keep thier job. It takes on a sorta Incumbent as champion, other candidate as challenger format.

I think the bigger problem isnt this framing fo the race, more so the media ignoring the evidence that Bush is far from a champion here, because it doesnt fit into how the media community has framed this election. Then again they didnt give Gore the benefit of incumbency, which they really should have, so there is certainly partisanship here.

4. The chimp said it himself
He is a master of underestimation.

Same as Condi. She did a terrible job because she did not answer the questions and she filibustered her way through the hearing. This was interpreted as a "good" job because she managed to outfox the commission. That is pretty f'd up in my opinion.

5. They should make it about the troops and the ordinary Iraqis, not about
Bush. They should try to get answers about what he is going to do to relieve the stretched-thin troops. Where are they going to get more? Where is the money going to come from? How will order be brought about?

Who was it that wrote that Bush is a coward who is afraid to go to the 9-11 Commission without Cheney holding his hand, but he will send people to Iraq?

We know he won't answer anything, but people need to see that and know what we have for so-called leadership.

Also, ask him why he thought "that was one terrible pilot" after seeing that information about hijacking and bin laden? Why did he go in the classroom? If he is a figurehead and doesn't take responsibility, then why did he want the job? Why would we want a person like him in charge if he doesn't want to handle the job? Please press, help us, and do your job. Help the troops, help the 9-11 families, get the truth.

6. and about the public
about ME. I don't like Bush, I want him to fall on his stupid monkey face. He's been lying to me for four years and he's gonig to lie again tonight. So I want him to be exposed. If they whores are rooting for him, that means they want him to keep getting away with fooling all of us.

They're especially nervous because he's on his own here, they can't hold his hand, at least not as much.

7. Bush is not America, Bush is not the government
WE ARE! It is too bad the media has forgotten that very important point.
Stop with the free passes the media gives to Bush. He is the most ineffective President in history. His Administration gives a bad name to criminals the world over. At least some criminals have a sense of honor.

Allegience is to America, not the President.

Our people are dying in Iraq because Bush and his LYING Administration conspired to start a preemptive war against a nation that neither harmed, nor intended to harm America or Americans.

For that lie, over 600 of America's future are dead. Their blood is on Bush's hands and he is trying to blame everyone except for the one person who sends in the troops.

the media are just a culpable and the blood is just as red on their hands.

It is up to us, the TRUE government of America to take it back and stop this insanity.

8. If the press doesn't do their job tonight, history will
show it was more important for them to coddle an irresponsible narcissist than it was for them to hold government accountable for people's lives and our country's credibility.

9. Pull off what?
The lies?

Not looking like an ill-informed incompetent?

And where's Uncle Dick when he needs him? Maybe he'll be coaching him through an ear piece.
