Pickard at 9/11 hearings: "Chatter subsided in August 2001".
Edited on Tue Apr-13-04 01:15 PM by Brotherjohn
Haven't these people ever heard of "the calm before the storm"?!

If the terrorists had a plan in place, I would think it almost expected that they would lay low once everything was ready to go. The "chatter" is everything being put into place. Once in place, they're just waiting for an opportune, likely pre-scehduled, time.

I know hindsight is 20-20, but just from a common-sense perspective, should you assume everything is hunky-dory the second the "chatter" subsides?

1. Pickard
is the one that O'Neil thought dumped the story about him losing his briefcase in Tampa to the news. He hated O'Neil.

2. His soundbite: "I had only handcuffs to offer..
but President (sic) Bush has bullets, bombs, and bayonets!"

He droned through his testimony and tried to put emphasis on this, his intended soundbite for TV news (sic).

4. And the terrorists only had box-cutters. Handcuffs beat box-cutters...
Kinda like rock beats scissors.

3. You can cut the tension with a knife.
The room seems to be awfully tense from the audience to the panel not to mention Pickard and Black.
