Dennis Hopper moves to The Dark Side
DENNIS HOPPER is the "Easy Rider" star-director who grew up surrounded by Democrats. In the '60 he marched with Martin Luther King and protested the Vietnam War.

But did you know that he is now a political conservative and has been since Ronald Reagan? He says, "I liked Clinton, but I voted for Bush Sr. And I'm definitely voting for Bush again."

Mr. Hopper's wife Victoria is a passionate Democrat who has raised money for John Edwards and John Kerry. Of her Democratic passions, Hopper says to the London Times: "I support Bush and I support my wife and what my wife's involved in. That's all. We don't talk politics. I respect her things, and you know, whether she respects mine doesn't really matter to me.

27. Too much Coke, LSD, and God Knows What Else he Did
Ironic, isn't it, that Hopper played "The Asshole Hippie" to such perfection in "Easy Rider".

Too well, perhaps, as I often wondered if that was part of his actual persona (which is why he could "act" it so well).

Now I know.

4. look at some of the movies he's done...

Super Mario Brothers? Space Truckers?

We all know that decision-making is not Dennis' strong suit.

25. Nicholson was a strong Clinton supporter. They played golf together.
A good quote about Clinton from Nicholson " he has the
mechanics of the job down better than anyone ever has".
Hopper lost a fortune in modern art in a divorce. Good.

11. Dennis Hopper is a legendary LA Ass.
I've heard WAY too many stories of Hopper showing up at nightclubs us regular people go to in LA, and then making sure everyone in the club that's attending knows he's "slumming." He treats the staff like shit, he's rude to everyone around him. About the only thing he doesn't do is wear an "I'm Dennis Hopper. You may begin worshipping me now." button.

MAJOR personal issues at work here.

12. Drain Bamaged
The Right gets all the freaks. I loved Hopper, but despite Blue Velvet his later work was overblown. So, feel free, Denny, join the ranks of the useless, washed up has been, never were repuggly actors.

17. ...and he's played "Dennis Hopper" in every single one
Dennis Hopper doesn't act. Dennis Hopper walks on a soundstage and plays himself. Usually that means his work will suck, but occasionally, a screenplay calls for "Dennis Hopper" and he gets praise for fumbling through another script doing the same bit he's done for 40 years.

won't endear himself to the freepers, even if he supports Chimpy.

Just playing himself.
