It's offical: Roves plan is just to blame everything on Clinton...
....At these hearings and let the RW echo chamber repeat it over and over again.

Simple tactic they hope catche's on.

Condi and Ashcroft prove this.

5. and the solution is...
turn around and blame it on the Republican-led congress that refused to act on terrorism defeating plans including Gore's airport security thing.

7. Yeah but just like the anti-gay marriage proposal
it only really appeals to their fanatical base. Anybody with half a brain and half a heart wants accountability from the government that's asking for another four more years. Look at what a great job the last four years have done, an attack on America(damn that Clinton he's so sneaky he planned it just to happen after he left) a war without an exit plan that wasn't necessary to fight. Guess it's Clinton's fault too that Saddam was left in power,oh wait that was Daddy. OOOPS.

Blame Clinton is just not gonna wash. The facts don't even come close to supporting it. They are lying their asses off and getting caught, if anybody but us is paying attention.

9. It seems clear who was coached and who was not
The Bushistas all seem to be using the same narrative thread. They seem to *start out* with the premise "Blame Clinton for everything", and then selectively choose evidence to support this conclusion. Even the language that they use, and the language style, is very very similar, strongly suggesting a central coach.

(I LOVE The Crisco Kid's euphemism for the Clinton administration -- "For almost 10 years")

Contrast that with the "outgroup" and how spontaneously and non-thematically they respond to questions.

The other thing that "ingroup" is coached on it "Your mission is to protect this President" rather than getting to the bottom of any investigation of, say, the most horrific occurance on our soil in our history.

I agree -- unless this "Wall" is exposed, the commission is moot.

Also want to reiterate what some observers have said -- Note how *strongly* and emotionally they make these claims of Clinton culpability -- seems to suggest that they are using this tactic to deflect what they very seriously fear -- being held responsible for their actions, AND, I would add, the Whole Plan they had been executing since seizing the White House.

Finally, it's a real hardy har har to hear they proclaim how it was impossible for *them* to have reached conclusions that could have prevented Sept 11, but that it is also inescapable however that Clinton COULD have done something, on the same intelligence. Go figure.

Nothing political going on here....

11. maybe you haven't noticed
but they keep justifying their Iraq mess by saying "Clinton thought in 1998 that he had WMD"...

So, true, they can't really balme him for it, but they sure as shit are going to try.

12. 9/11 happened on Bush's watch. That's a fact!!!
They did nothing to increase attention to Bin Laden and Al-qaeda until AFTER 9/11. that's another fact! The rest is moot.

13. I'm getting sick of hearing it
real adults stand up and admit their part in failure. This administration refuses to do so.
