6. There's your "represetantive" of the United States to the Iraqis.
.
.
.

They are NOT peacekeepers -

and that line was DRILLED into that kid's head I'd bet.

USA wants killing

Not peace

Obviously.

12. a 20 year old that I know
who just came back wounded, went over there with rage because of what had been going on in his family life over here.

To tell you the truth, I don't know how someone could survive in the military without blind rage. And I do mean blind. Senseless.

16. Does he still have his rage?
Or did most of it leak out along with his blood? I'm curious about what he thinks now.

Just glad he came back warm...

3. what did you expect?
the US soldiers are stressed and scared and the Military knows exactly how to use that bring into being a bloodthirsty rage.

The Iraqi people, meanwhile, are humiliated, still oprressed by thier "liberators" and forced to stand by whiel thier country is sol doff to the highest bidder. and it's not liek the US really ever helped the Iraqis before now either.

SO naturally they too are slowly being consumed by a nihilistic rage.

Which means both groups fight each other instead of the people who go them in this mess.

Am I the only one who is finding this all too depressing for words?

9. Not Alone
Booly...
I know how you feel. The most amazing thing to me is that so many people don't seem to really care that we are going down a completely wrong path.

The dynamics are changing in Iraq. The rules of engagement are being adhered to less and less. The mind starts to see the enemy as no longer human (on both sides).

There is a pattern of thinking...a progressive degeneration of reason. Few men can be under such stress for such long periods of time and NOT have their "reason" effected. What results can never be a good thing...all options are bad.

10. Just like the son in law of someone we know....
It was during the first Gulf War. Before he was deployed to Kuwait he said that all he wanted to do was "kill rag heads". Lean, mean, killing machine.

13. We need to get out.
The next time I hear comparisons with Desert Storm 1 I'm gonna scream. This President had NOTHING to give him the right to invade Iraq..nothing! We should'nt have gone...hopefully President Kerry will send them home his first week in office.
