What's Rove's big surprise for tonight?
Too much is going on and they need to change the topic quick.

Will Bu$h announce enactment of the draft? Nah, I don't think so, not till after the reselection.

Will Bu$h announce that they found WMD's in Iraq?

Or maybe he's finally found bin Laden? Nay, not time yet.

What will it be, any guesses?

Whoever the winner is gets a free ticket to Iraq.

2. Rather said Bush is going to replace Bremer with Negroponte.
Is that distraction enough?

3. I don't think they will have a surprise.
I'm beginning to think we are giving Rove too much credit. Nothing that he's tried in the last few weeks has helped Bush.

My thought is that they are in defensive mode. Tonight they will try to make Bush look like he is engaged not fiddling while the country goes to hell in a hand basket.

I agree.
Asscroft's testimony today is the blueprint for Chimp's talk tonight. The main points:

1. I care deeply about America.
2. God is on my side and yours too if you are a Christian and not a stinking atheist like those Democrat communists who want to wreck our great and wonderful country.
3. They hate our freedoms.
4. Anything bad that happened is all Bill's fault, and the fault of the stinking atheist commie-loving Democrats.

Then he'll take two or three softball pitches from white men wearing red ties, and that'll be it.

4. he'll probably announce
the deployment of x amount of troops (10,000 or so) and give an exact date... he'll really try to present "a plan" for us... how we're gonna win over the insurgents... and not to let the violence stand in our way.

that's my guess.

he'll fail miserably tho. because he's a miserable failure :D

6. They're out of tricks
just a benign scripted press conference to re-lower our expectations for the upcoming election.

basically, if he survives - which he will - they'll consider it a victory & "move on".

But saying it doesn't make it true. Each time the pull the "everything is great" stunt, they lose that much more credibility with that many more people. And an equal number of people buy it so the numbers don't really change & the election is going to come down to turnout (which we will win).

If I win the contest, I would like to give my free ticket to Iraq to Rush Limbaugh.

F-16s are bombing Falluja as we speak ...
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/F8388B06-6A1B-43AB-8DF1-529ADBEA24DA.htm

Occupation forces in Iraq have used F16 fighter planes to bomb the Nizal neighbourhood in Falluja, Aljazeera TV's correspondent has reported.

The journalist also said that the occupation on Tuesday pushed several tanks through the only open gateway used as an exit for Iraqi families in an apparent violation of the latest ceasefire in Falluja.

The invading forces were met with fierce resistance by the Falluja defenders which forced the US tanks into a quick withdrawal," correspondent Abd al-Azim Muhammad reported.

"Five were killed and severel others injured in the battles between the resistance fighters and the occupation troops."

The US fighter planes dropped stun bombs to cover their troops withdrawal, he added.

17. Agreed...
I think a big bomb would have had less notice. It's kind of hard to trot out, "well, we found Osama" 48 hours after announcing a press conference. If I remember correctly, they carried a press conference at 5 a.m. EST or so (by Bremer in Qatar -- "We got him") to announce Saddam's capture.

to make it look like he gives a shit about the quagmire. obviously the brush problem in texas is much more pressing, but appearances count, you know. this is just p.r., pure and simple. even the gop-ers were starting to complain about the monkey's lack of response, this being an election year and all.

We'll hear the usual drinking game phrases; "stay the course", "thugs & murderers", "Iraq/9-11" and all the usual crap.

19. No surprises, plenty of lieses.
Chimp's stringpullers are thinking the 12 minute speech and the handpicked questions will fool the merkun people into believing that, just like they thought, their fearless leader is on the case despite the librul media trying to fool them into thinking otherwise.
