*Best* media comments you've heard so far?
Who is giving honest feedback about this performance? What's the best and worst you've heard from the media so far? I don't have cable and am curious what's being said, and by whom.

1. "actor" Jason Pollack was on Dennis Miller:
Edited on Tue Apr-13-04 09:40 PM by PROGRESSIVE1
He claimed to be a Democrat and supported the war in Iraq because we needed to show the world that we (America) are can "kick ass"!

I guess I will have to boycott him now.

CNN is very good tonight. Bill Richardson SMASHED Bushie on his miserable failure in Iraq.

2. Your answer is the number of replies you have gotten.
Sounds like the media thought it was superb.

Oh, for a Cronkite, who would just REPEAT WHAT BUSH ACTUALLY SAID. That, in itself, is enough to damn him.

3. Oliphant on PBS
He noted that there were only two good questions, the one about the joint 9/11 commission appearance, and the one about ever having made a mistake. And of course he pointed out that Bush answered neither question. I can't recall if he pointed out the obvious fact that Bush totally choked on that second question.

Oliphant also pointed out that other questions were pretty pointless, like asking someone "how you felt".

4. Timid
I thought Oliphant was quite deferential to *, aside from the minor points you mentioned. I was disappointed in his timidity.

7. Did you watch his remarks?
I know that conservatives must have been too busy creaming their pants to pay attention... but conservatives never post here.

So what were you doing while Bush was talking that led you to think his stuttering, stammering, non-answers were any good?

14. The Oliphant/Brooks discussion with Jim Lehrer was excellent
Both were very insightful, pointing out things I hadn't noticed. That's normal for Oliphant, of course, but it's become quite rare for David Brooks lately, so it was a pleasant surprise.

5. Watched FOX for fun afterwards
We tuned in to Fox News Channel for a while for their spin. Sean Hannity called Bush "poised and articulate..."

April 13, 2004

Oh god

He's so awful. He just flounders around until he can dredge up a marginally appropriate sound bite--and when the question doesn't allow for that, he's just utterly lost.
