Iowa Senate rejects gay nominee (American Taliban alert!)
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Lawmakers blocked the nomination of an openly gay lawyer to the state school board Tuesday, ending two days of heated debate in which some Republicans expressed fear that he would promote a gay agenda.

2. just lovely
I read

"We have the most qualified candidate that we have ever had," said Sen. Matt McCoy. "Yet he is being taken apart by rumor, innuendo, hatred and bigotry and a sense that he's not good enough to serve Iowa because he has a different sexual orientation."

but yet that is not good enough, due to fear and ignorance. What "gay agenda" exactly is he suppose to be plotting? When does the school board promote ANY sexuality, either homosexual or heterosexual? It's not what they do. This is stupid. I would have thought the educated people of Iowa would not be guilty of such bigotry.

5. You have to understand the conservative world view
See, they beleive in "trickle down economics" which says that if you give rich people a lot of money, some of it will find its way down to the streets.

The same logic informs their view of homosexuality: trickle down gayness. If you put a gayvy-wavy in charge of kids, some of his/her gayness will find its way down to the kids. It's all very simple, really.

Here's my standard sarcastic response to any parent who objects to gay teachers: "Yeah, I can understand why you wouldn't want a gay person teaching your child - I've met your kid and I don't think it would take much to push him over the big gay cliff, if you know what I'm saying".

I get into fights a lot.

3. Fuck. Don't worry about the "gay agenda". Worry about the neoconservatives
I don't want my (hypothetical) children being indoctrinated by a school board member who is trying to push his fanatical neoconservative of death, moral decay, and selfishness.

When was the last time a homosexual started a war based only on lies and fearmongering that led to the deaths of over 700 Americans AFTER he declared the end of combat?

When was the last time a homosexual scammed thousands of people out of millions of dollars by using fraud, insider trading, and shady accounting practices?

When was the last time a homosexual knowingly and willingly allowed a terror attack to kill 3,000 innocent American citizens just so he could force through his fascist, twisted, imperialistic agenda?

When was the last time you saw homosexuals glamorizing intolerance, hatred, and contempt for anyone with an income of less than $100,000 a year?
