I think I know why Bush would not admit he made a mistake. He did not want Kerry to use it in a campaign add.

People tend to be forgiving, especially of the contrite. And it would be hard for Kerry to use it against him.

No, it's because Bush is a lowlife asshole. That's why he can't admit a mistake.

it's because he's an arrogant SOB and doesn't give a crap about the people of this country. Every time I heard him stumble around about his sorrow for the loss of life I winced.

thats the really sick part of smirk, he's so convinced in the righteousnous of his "missions" that whatever he does can not be wrong - afterall, its devine providence that is leading him, and the devine can not be wrong
