Has Dumbya White House become a bad Farrelly Brothers comedy?
Edited on Tue Apr-13-04 11:35 PM by mouse7
Is the Dumbya White House the "mythical" Farelly Brothers comedy that goes too far and offends too many?

The Press Conference looked like it was straight out of Shallow Hal. Jack Black as President and we're waiting for the President to fart loudly and then run off screaming into the night.

We've seen the Dumbya/Jack Black as President drop the dog on camera... an outtake from Something About Mary, maybe? Jack Black giving everyone around him innane nicknames. Jack Black with a plastic turkey in Iraq. Okay... there were some humorous moments...

But then we have Jack Black on 9/11 saying "that was one terrible pilot" and then reading goat stories as people were leaping from the Twin Towers. The hilarity stopped ensuing here. The madcap hunt for WoMD was met with silence from the audience as flag-draped coffins started being brought back in bulk. The script lacked funny one-liners about burnt American corpses being dragged through the streets by Islamic Radicals.

There's still another reel of the film left to watch, too.
