"Comforting the beloved"
I heard * say the hardest part of his job was comforting the families of casualties.

Has he actually done this, even once, or is this just a total fucking lie?

1. It's a lie.
It's a big, big, big lie.
But of course, no reporter will actually stand up and say "Mr. President, have you actually comforted any families? Have you actually attended any funerals? Have you actually been at Dover when the flag-draped coffins bring our soldiers home for their final rest?"
Not.
One.
Reporter.

3. That's what I thought
can ANYBODY offer evidence to the contrary?

I want to write an LTTE this Sunday and do not want to get blindsided.

2. Was wondering that myself
I've never heard of him meeting with families (and it had fuck-all to do with the question asked -- would the Iraq invasion have been worth it, even if it cost him his job).

5. Thanks.
I'll try to search for links-

He tried this shit earlier, setting himself up like he was some kind of national pastor. I want to nail him, but don't want to leave any wiggle room.

6. Huh
You're right. It appears he has on at least one occasion:

I'd be surprised if there are other instances, though.

Our country has an 'affliction,' an ailment, called *

and the only thing that will comfort it is seeing Kerry in the WH.

8. nope...not really...
This weekend, at a Fort Hood hospital, I presented a Purple Heart to some of our wounded, had the honor of thanking them on behalf of all Americans. Because Karl told me it was a good photo op.....by the way, did ya check out the bod on my daughter? Boy...if I was still doin' coke and she wasn't my kid.......

Besides doin' the "easter weekend photo op" W has been very conspicuous by his absence at funerals or with families of people killed during the occupation.
