Anyone see this yet...New York Time op-ed...?

NY Times op-ed on Bush's Speech

(snip)
Happily, President Bush finally held a prime-time news conference last night. Unhappily, he failed to address either of the questions uppermost in Americans' minds: how to move Iraq from its current chaos, and what he has learned from the 9/11 investigations.

Mr. Bush was grave and impressive while reading his opening remarks, which focused on the horrors of terrorism and the great good that could come from establishing a free and democratic Iraq. No one in the country could disagree with either thought. But his responses to questions were distressingly rambling and unfocused. He promised that Iraq would move from the violence and disarray of today to full democracy by the end of 2005, but the description of how to get there was mainly a list of dates when good things are supposed to happen.

2. Intriguing. NY Times said that?
I'm glad to see they've recognized the main thrust of this news conference - that bush is a fantastic dancer. Sure can do that Texas Two-Step. He cha-cha'ed around the questions like Condi and the other apologists testifying before the 9/11 commission did. I'm really glad to see this.

11. I am Amazed
that they could find "focus" in his opening remarks. I broke my record by watching/listening to *him* for 10 minutes. Wish I had turned it back on for the Q&A...

3. Doesn't it feel good...

To know that all along, when the other side was attacking our patriotism, we were right about everything! And they were wrong about everything.

That just makes me feel very good.

:D

4. hopeful but......
you see I wonder about these things and you can call me paranoid if you like. I think Bush is done. As long as the election isin't stolen. I think those in control....are happy enough with Kerry......sorry I know some of you hate to hear this...... and so they are now willing to report some of the truth. It's not some big turn around. I say look to the draft coming before the election if Bush has given up.

8. Really, could Bush stand up to another 4 years? Could we?
Edited on Wed Apr-14-04 01:01 AM by Old and In the Way
I think not. The votes could be rigged, but it might be in everybody's self interests to make sure John Kerry wins.

5. Free (20+), Democratic (2)
Somehow I don't think he was emphasizing Democratic. But he did say "free" Iraq more times than I could count.
