The right no longer knows the difference
between a leader and an imbecile. I used to think they were just radically partisan. Now I'm convinced they share their "leader's" handicap.

They have so completely lost the ability to discern between reality and their own blind ideology that they are no longer capable of functioning in the real world. We are in some nebulous artificial space, and the Holodeck is on the fritz, Captain Picard.

I'm an old guy. I remember a friend back in the early 70's who was on a bad acid trip. He was blind to everything and everyone around him except the psychedelic horrors that flooded his brain at that moment. Because he was a danger to himself and others, we had to hold him until he calmed. There was no rational or even emotional way to reach him.

That's exactly what the right wingers who are fawning over George's utterly embarassing, bumbling, incompetent performance tonight remind me of.

I fear for our country. Our true enemies (not the Iraqi "insurgents") were watching. It has never been so clear how absolutely rudderless the USS America is.

Can we survive another 9 months, much less 4 more years, with this buffoon in charge?

Can the nation survive with this many people so utterly out of touch with rationality?

1. Yes they can.
And we will.

People are waking up, albiet slowly.

Bush is doing a great job of screwing himself, far worse than Nixon did.

And look what happened to him.

Hang in there.

Go over to Air America and listen for a few hours.

I always feel great after that.

Well as good as I can knowing my tax dollars are funding mass murder.

Karma is a great thing.

What comes aorund goes around.

2. You are correct, in my opinion, but it hasn't happened overnight
Insert "Ronald Reagan" in each of those sentences, and the words are just as true. The change in ability to carry out buffoonish policies is due to a right-wing sweep of the entire government. No congress to worry about. No Supreme Court getting in the way.

Onward Fascist Soldiers!

3. the lack of checks and balances is ultimately frightneing
there is no restraint on the stupidity of this ruling junta.

they could decide tomorrow to invade Canada and the GOP zombies in teh Congress and the media and the Supreme court and the general population would go right along with it.

The most powerful nation on earth is being run by delusional and dangerously demented--not to mention incompetent--people.

5. "throne" is more and more accurate
with the rise of the neocons.

I think Kerry needs to actually pull about 75% of the vote, just to break even in the neocon Murka, with the BBV and the voter fraud and the MIC-media coersion.

And breaking even just means that 5 justices will again treasonously award rule to L'il George.

6. Very well said...
I was floored last night listening to the media put positive spin to the utter nonsense and outright denial of reality and truth last night. We are in trouble.

8. it's not only him
he is a clueless imbecile who has no business leading the line at the men's room, much less the United States of America.

But, do Limbaugh and Hannity and O'Really and Scarborough and the other media whores actually believe the increasingly far-fetched notion that the emperor's new clothes really do look nice?

How can they state with a straight face that L'il George did well last night. That was the single most embarrassing performance by a President in my lifetime (48 years). It was literally frightening to think this monkey is in charge. Surely even the most rabid neocon has to be mortified at some level.
