I thought the exact same thing while he was saying that. I couldn't beleive he could say it with a straight face.
Back on MTP, he said something to Russert along the lines of "Democratic societies do not build weapons of mass..."
And then he trailed off, never finishing his statement. You have to think that the reason he trailed off there was because finishing the statement is because if he had, his brain, like a confused computer on an episode of Star Trek, would have begin to spiral into a self-destructive loop. In his own head, he would have started to argue back and forth "America is a democratic nation, but democratic nations do not build weapons of mass destruction but America is a democratic nation but democratic nations do not build weapons." And then Cheney and Ashcroft would have run into the Oval Office, and beamed him onto the front lawn of the white house before he exploded due to the faulty logic.
