St Petersburg dem Club - what ad? Story?
I caught the tail end of a story about a good ad/statement by these good people. RNc seems to be up in arms, so, naturally, kerry takes their side and asks them to apologize. Anyone knows what this is about? It was discussed on Air America - Morning Sedition.

1. Kerry is right
They said Rumsfeld needs to be shot. In an ad. They should apologize, though.

My money is on agent provocateur, though.

Dissing Kerry without even knowing the facts of the case.... A Democratic Group in Florida ran an ad stating that Rumsfeld should be killed. Me-Thinks that it was a bit over the top....

5. Agree it's over the top. that said, when I hear dem club
in Florida vs RNC& Kerry I will automatically go to democratic club in Flirida and make no excuses for it. The Kos, and years or precedents are on my side.

3. there was NO mention of KILLING RUMSFELD. I saw the ad, it's
BULLSHIT.

They said something along the lines of having the bush admin "in their sites" with a "finger on the trigger."

Stuff and nonsense. NO death threats, sorry.

Democratic club's ad suggests shooting Rumsfeld

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/04/13/dem.ad/index.html

MIAMI, Florida -- An ad placed in a Florida community newspaper by a city Democratic club attacks President Bush and U.S. policy in Iraq, and threatens Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

The ad says of Rumsfeld, "We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say, 'This is one of our bad days,' and pull the trigger."

The ad was placed by the St. Petersburg Democratic Club in last week's issue of The Gabber, a weekly community newspaper based in Gulfport, next to St. Petersburg on Florida's Gulf Coast.

Here's the related DU thread, in which a Dem party person from Florida claims that these people are really Dems:

7. Here's the Pinellas County Democratic Party reply
http://www.pdp.org/

Statement by Kevin Jensen,

Chairman, Pinellas County Democratic Party

The Pinellas County Democratic Executive Committee, and the County Chairman, Kevin Jensen finds the ad in the Gulfport Gabber from the St. Petersburg Democratic Club as totally unacceptable. The personal opinion of the copy writer does not in anyway represent the Democratic Party or any presidential campaign. The small club in question has had its charter revoked and an investigation into the motives for the ad are being explored. Universally we agree that this type of behavior is reprehensible and will not be condoned on any level at any time. -Kevin Jensen, Pinellas County
