Poll question: Most evil dictator the USA was ever chums with?

This list includes only dictators (or dinasties of dictators) that were in cahoots with the US govt. for their entire run at power, and never have (or still haven't) "become bad guys" like, for example, Saddam.

people on that list, and more than a dozen current heads of countries today. Musharreff is the best thing we're going to get in Pakistan, and Sharon has fucked up alot but he doesn't target innocents like the extremists he get's demonized about by "progressives" for dealing with. He's been democratically elected by an educated, moderate populace. I'll be the first one to say Israel and the world would be a hell of alot better off without Likud in power(and preferably Shuini instead), but anti-Israel chic is really a blight to the modern left

6. He tried VERY hard to become one
And would be in the list and with a lot of votes had he succeded. But he didn't, and the world is a slightly better place because of that.

I ALMOST broke my own rules and included the guy. But I decided to stick to the definition.

but that was out of necessity to defeat Hitler. It wasn't too chummy before or after WWII. The Shah of Iran ranks and our relationship with him cost us greatly.
