1. Aid and comfort isn't what this gives the enemy
It gives them a gigantic fucking bullseye to aim at. Great fucking job by the Bush War Machine on this one!

2. You are so right. Next time Kennedy or Kerry is criticized for opposing
Bush policies and it is called 'giving aid and comfort to the enemies' they should mention this. This should be pointed out to Rush and Hannity also as they are always accusing Kennedy of sending the wrong message to our troops and to our enemies.

3. Its a warning...
They have to penetrate the terrorists organizations the way the FBI penetrated the KKK and the mob.

Before you start with the kneejerk reactions...think.

Think how long it took to ruin the KKK. The FBI infiltrated them to the point where they didnt even trust each other. I have heard at one point Hoover boasted that he had over 3000 informers in the KKK.

Think how long it took to infiltrate the mob. Think Donnie Brasco.

Thats what he is talking about. Thats where we have to go and it normally takes years to set that up.

It may also be a ruse. We may already have infiltrators that he may not want to give any clues about. their "comfort" may be a Trojan horse.

we need to stop this joking around. Terrorist wont spare me because I opposed Bush going to Iraq.

7. Good points . . .
. . . I remember right after 9/11 the FBI and CIA were rapidly recruiting ANYONE who could speak the languages of the Middle East. That was an admission of a sort right there.

8. Does it ever occur to you to wonder why there are terrorists?
I never hear anyone talking about diffusing the issues that make people want to become terrorists. We are not going to win a war on terror buy trying to kill all the terrorists. That would be like trying to stop the tide from coming in.

We could try to learn what the Islamic world and we can do to live in peace. Violence only begets more violence. We will never stop terrorism by fighting a war. We will only lose our own souls.

4. Does anyone think we are more prepared?
If you believe, as I do, in LIHOP then it follows that 9-11 could have been thwarted even with the terrible system of intelligence at that (and this) time. Even a government that was totally clueless before 9-11 could have reduced the effectiveness of the attack by simply using our defense system and already established protocols for dealing with unresponsive, off course aircraft.

A responsible government would have insisted on an investigation immediately and we would already be implementing recommendations to improve our preparedness and defense against attacks here and abroad. This administration has strangely avoided this route and resisted even the sham investigations that it has allowed to take place.

The question is why hasn't more been done? After all we still have no "silver bullet" and terrorists are not going to give notice of where, when, how and whom. It has been 31 months since 9-11. The same people are running things the same way as before 9-11. That world has not changed. Why?

5. why could that kid from California get into osama's operation
easily enough?

what was his name, John Walker?...the 18 year old American who was arrested during the American seize in Northern Afganistan, and tried for treason in Virginia.....

gosh, tenet should have asked that 18 year old San Marino County kid how he got in there....

the kid went to Afganistan, couldn't speak the language, managed in a few months to get into osama's group and actually MET osama and shook hands with him....now, with all that money and staff that tenet has, why couldn't one of his guys done that????
