The bomb of the day: Bush and Tenent didn't talk in August 2001?

Didn't Condi say that Bush was being briefed weekly or daily by Tenent. We learned yesterday that the acting director of the FBI provided no input into the Aug 6 PDB.

God, these people are all liars. I am really disappointed in Tenent.

Bottom line: Bush admin was asleep at the helm. The spike in 'chatter' did not happen under Clinton...Clinton was out of office in 2001. Bush and his neocons were focused strategically on how to get missile defense accomplished, topple Saddam, and push through tax cuts. Ashcroft was focused on targeting pro-choice people and criminalizing abortion. They didn't care about Osama because that was Clinton's enemy.

If there are any journalists here, you need to get on message with the truth. All the rest of this 9/11 Commission is smoke and mirrors.
Truth is, that while this Commission is meeting, the US could be attacked anywhere and in any way.

Tenet was NOT meeting w/ the President according to Tenet.

The height of the threat period was June and July. And she said that she met everyday, not Tenet.

But she sure as hell perjured herself...

It looks more and more like LIHOP is not a conspiracy theory. They distanced themselves from any info that may have obligated them to take real action against the terror threats that were building after they took office. Everything is "threats were not specific", A didn't talk to B, nobody told us to do anything, and now the "WALL".

They purposely set up a situation for the old game of "plausible deniability", first popularized under Reagan-Bush, to prevent any information from reaching the top. But, when it came to Iraq then it was full steam ahead and send it up the stove pipe. They lied re: 9-11 about knowing nothing and they lied re: Iraq about knowing so much. In each instance the opposite was the truth.

I think what we're seeing is utter incompetence on the part of the bush White House. This administration has been a day late and a dollar short on everything. This probably has a lot to do with the utter arrogance of bush himself, his style is to let everyone else run the show and then pretend to be a leader. They dropped the ball on 9/11 and on Iraq. At the beginning of the war bush was told he would need up to 250,000 troops to secure Iraq, and he refused to listen. This is directly responsible for the quagmire we're in today, the place is just out of control. I don't know if incompetence is grounds for impeachment, but it should be!
