People were talking about websites and where to go for information on the net. Somebody asked about DU, and the answer was "oh I'm not into conspiracy theories." I gave them a piece of my mind, but didn't change any minds. Fark'em.

Why the hell people continue to let screwjob, passive-aggresive Right-Wingers define the debate is beyond me.

Six months or a year ago, there was a lot of talk about foil helmets, etc. But, in reality, most of the posters here were not far off the truth.

It was in the context of a discussion of only expecting to see weird conspiracy theories on fringe group websites such as DU.

As long as we are a "fringe group", we have a better chance to make a difference. We can continue to bring in fresh people with fresh ideas....

They see one kooky thread here, and they feel free to dismiss all of it. So if someone posts a thread that Bush is a Reptilian Alien Controlled by Martians - and someone else posts that PNAC Signatories Cheney, Rumsfeld, Perle, Feith & Wolfowitz Planned this Iraq Invasion Years Ago - both topics should be dismissed with equal derision. It's a very convenient attitude.

I don't consider myself a "tinfoiler" but you know what? I like reading those posts, anyway. They are interesting. And who am I to judge, anyway?

as long as it means I don't think attacking nation states and setting up military bases all over them enraging the world as we do it is actually a good and logical plan to stop terrorism.
